  1. Damn, you guys are good lol. It doesn't have the graphics on it, but I've seen this car around my area for years and years, a couple GT ones too with the raised roof, and even a few Turbos too; and my mother had a dark red LSi that had an exact twin one a number of years back.
  2. So for those of you that know the Legacy best from it's first incarnation, here's something to stump you... First, we state that the Legacy came in Base, L, LS, LSi and GT models here in the States, right? My dad recently got a trade-in from someone with a 1994 Legacy wagon that's badged as an "Mi". That's odd, considering this was only a designation (as far as I know) in the Japanese market, the wagon variant of the Ei. Here are the differences I notice: - Two-tone factory interior - Badge on the rear hatch saying "LEGACY Mi" is on the driver's side, as opposed to a normal "LEGACY LS" sitting in the parking space next to it - No "AUX" jack on the radio, just a little round indentation on the radio face where it normally went - unique seven spoke wheels - "Stillwater Blue" paint color - GT-looking grille painted to match the car around the edge Any possibility that it could just be a Canadian car (the border is only like four hours away) or an odd sort of Japanese LHD import of some sort? Any thoughts/answers greatly appreciated. :]
  3. *that unique inside* My phone's internet is being retarded lol.
  4. I dunno, always thought it'd look cool and, look at it this way, how many cars do you see that are that unique? Least of all an old Subaru lol. Also, I'm not sure, but I'd think with a little work, you could make the seats from a newer_generation mercury cougar with rear buckets and make those fit if the fronts from a loyale are too disproportionate.
  5. My only real issue will be finding a donor car for the seats and carpet and center console, but a few calls to the local junkyards or a craigslist wanted post should help that.
  6. I'm trying to get a coupe from a friend, and I've always wanted to do a rear bucket job in a car. ^.^ Maybe this time I'll actually be able to accomplish it.
  7. I should have been more specific lol. A Loyale coupe or sedan was what I meant.
  8. I was wondering if anyone has tried putting bucket seats in the rear of a coupe or a seda. Any help would be much apprecinated. [object Selection]
  9. I almost bought one actually... 0.o Here's the thread: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=100071 It needed too much of that classic Subaru hang-up: rust repair.
  10. Okay, so I know that the parts from the Outback and GT are pretty much plug-and-play, but I had kind of a weird question. I like the extra "bump" on the roof of the Outback, but I want the looks of the GT wagon. Has anyone ever seen an Outback with the 97-99 GT bumpers, maybe lowered by putting the GT's springs in it. I think this would look awesome, especially with that wing/airfoil thing the 96-99 wagons had. Anyone with pictures, or even just good with photoshop? I'd like to see how that would look, because I have the resources to build this, just wanted to hear the experts' opinions.
  11. Yes, it does indeed appear that they have indeed lost their minds. The headlights make it look a little like Amy Winehouse just had a 3-way with a Suzuki SX4 and the new Impreza while on crack; the grille is something ripped and twisted out of a Lexus GX SUV with excessive chrome thrown in. They blended the tail lights from a G35 and a Sonata into a strange mixture, and threw in a bit of ground Lexus IS seasoning to a Honda accord base and set the oven on broil to get the body lines. SUBARU, WTF HAPPENED TO YOU!!!??? Seriously man, they do need to get back to their roots.
  12. Hahaha alas I didn't get to put the top down on the drive, but I'll post more pics when I get the car back to Clermont next week.
  13. Lol good eye. one of the bolts for the frame that holds the middle of the top up is gone. Just have to stick a nut and bolt there and it'll have the proper shape again. That did cross my mind about the holes in the deck lid, but I looked under it, and the bottom end isn't rusty. -crosses fingers- Anyone know how I could get in and open it?
  14. As a matter of fact, I'd love 'em. Don't have much money atm, but when I sell my Mazda Millenia I should have enough to do a couple of things to it. And that would most certainly be a good thing to have. I don't need to be getting pulled over for stupid little things like that. Funny you should mention that; I'm looking at LED tail-light bulbs right now.
  15. Yeah, after getting a good look at the steering wheel, I'm thinking that one's the way to go too; I've gotten used to the four-spoke one in my old VW anyway. Just curious, would a front air dam be a little too over-the-top?
  16. Okay, I have the pics now. I'll probably post a lot more as I get work done to it, so you guys'll have the opportunity to see it from all angles. The front with my buddy standing next to it: The somewhat wonky-looking top with that silly little luggage rack on the runk lid: Somebody decided to do an eight-ball theme on the interior at some point; it's got the shift knob, cigarette lighter and a couple stickers on the windows. >.< Hideously faded seat covers and a dilapidated steering wheel cover are terrible too: Stewie Griffin on the dashboard and the cracked windshield: The sticker on the corner of the windshield says "NORTH CAROLINA 12/95": The Good: --It's a convertible! --Analog gauges with only 89,000 miles on the clock --Runs smooth as silk --Mean-sounding exhaust, but didn't have any holes in it that I could see The Bad: --Rust hole on the back right next to the top --Rust hole where the driver's seat bolts in --Trunk won't open --Top is a little weird in design and execution --Broken tail light --A/C won't blow cold air --Cracked windshield The Ugly: --Sorry guys, but those pinstripes gotta go... --I never really liked the luggage racks on these. That might end up going, particularly since it only has one of the strips on the inside. --SERIOUSLY need to repaint those wheels .
  17. Say hello to the latest Subie convertible owner! I picked up this one for eight hundred bucks from a used Honda lot in Tampa. It has 89,000 miles on the clock and is a little rough around the edges (cracked windshield, briken tail light and a couple rust holes) but it runs like a top otherwise. It sounds bad a$$ too lol. Nicer than most of the rice-rocket Civics around at any rate. We go to pick it up on Sunday hopefully. This is the pic of it on CL. I'll have more when I get home tomorrow for y'all.
  18. Oh believe me, I plan to cam-whore the 5h1t out of it lol.
  19. Okay. I know they're rare as hen's teeth, so I guess it probably would be a good idea to leave it mostly stock. I'm sure it'd just depreciate the value if I did a whole bunch of crap to it. And thanks, I'll check the rust, water and other things before I decide. I'm sure for $800 though it's a terrific deal no matter what shape lol.
  20. Sold me on one! As long as it's under $20 USD, I'm game. I'd like to get August 21st reserved if I could.
  21. Hey all! Name's Kyle, I've been lurking around since High School cause I'm an insane Subie fan!! I love the older ones in particular. Growing up in Maine, my family has always had at least one Subaru in their possession since I was born in '89. But I was wondering about a purchase that I'm most likely going to be making soon. I'm (again, most likely) buying an 82 GLF convertible tomorrow. The guy doesn't really know what he has ( I knew more about it than he did lol) and is selling it for really cheap. I had a few questions to ask the people who know though... --I was told the driver's seat in it was broken. What other kinds of seats would fit in place of the stock ones, and what colors would suit it best? I was thinking black leather with blue Alcaantara inserts. (The car is white with a blue top and blue interior btw) --Can the headlights (not the side markers!) be converted to the third gen Leone/Loyale style single-piece units without a huge undertaking? I know that changing the grille would be extremely likely, but I think the look would be awesome. --Are the tail lights the same ones as on the Hatchbacks? Just curious, might be easier to find that way. --What car has more modern-looking bumpers that might fit? I can do some fab and fiberglass work, just not insane customizations lol. --Would it be expensive to get a windshield for it? The one in it now is broken, and I know the GLF is a rare-ish car here on the East coast. My dad has a regular hardtop quietly rusting to death in their backyard up in Maine, and I thought maybe I should get what I can off of it when I'm up there next. --Lastly, the steering wheel. I really preferred the one on the '85 and up HB and BRATs, and want that one for this car. Looking for someone in Florida that might swap me? Btw, common issues to look out for? Y'all know best and thanks for any info!
  22. The front end is ungainly and ugly, and really only seems like it would add weight onto the car. ... but I like it. *googles mod kits for my old subie*
