  1. Even with the good oil pressure numbers, could the oil pump still possibly need to be replaced? Mike
  2. When I first start the car in the morning, the gauge gets to about 85. Then when the car is warm at idle it sits around 10 and when I'm driving on the freeway at cruising speed it sits at about 45. I looked up the proper oil pressure numbers on the forum and this seemed to be good to me. Mike
  3. I'm not sure of the history of the car, bought it just a few months ago. I did install an aftermarket oil pressure gauge (because the stock one was dead) and the car has good oil pressure.
  4. Yeah thats kind of what I was thinking. The car runs really well, I'd just like the early morning tick to subside. But if not, no big deal. Mike
  5. Ok, so I tried the seafoam technique and no luck. The car just has a slight tick for the first five minutes its running when its cold. So now I'm going to try MMO. If I put a quart of it into the crankcase does the oil need to be changed soon thereafter? I poured over past threads and I couldn't seem to find the answer. Thanks for all the help guys!! This forum has helped so much with keeping my soob going. Mike
  6. By the way, which vacuum hose did you suck the seafoam up into? I was going to do the same today on my 91' loyale. Mike
  7. Oh yeah, I know that shop. I always drive by it on the way up to pikes peak to do some fishing. Great, well I'm gonna pass by today. Thanks alot!!
  8. The weather is hit and miss.... 70 yesterday, 40 today. Spring is always a little iffy, but yes I too love it here, lots of fun trails to drive the soob on
  9. Hello all, I am fairly new to this forum and I was curious if anyone knows of a good soob mechanic in the Colorado Springs front range area. Thanks Mike
  10. I just replaced my radiator, mine was shot and covered in that stop leak stuff the previous owner had smeared all over it. Changing it was really easy and cheap. I got the radiator at radiatorbarn.com, shipped in just a few days. Mike
  11. Yup, my 91' Loyale does the same thing. Sometimes when I lock the doors while driving the light will go out. Doesn't bother me though. Mike
  12. Yeah, here is the site I used. http://autorepair.about.com/library/ts/obd-i/bl-dtcs-89.htm Mike
  13. I'm not sure on that one, I of course am a newb and my knowledge is limited. I know my ECU will click once when I turn the ignition on.
  14. I dealt with the same thing when I bought my 91 loyale. To self diagnose the CEL, disconnect the green and white wires, then turn on the ignition and look under the steering column at the ECU, the light should flash a series of flashes, but if you said the CEL light goes out when you connect them, then I don't think you have anything to worry about. Mike
  15. Yeah I'm thinking maybe its time for an aftermarket gauge.
  16. No, I got the sender, fits in place where the old one was. Just can't get it to read anything.
  17. Do you mean disconnect the sender and touch it on the block with it still connected?
  18. I used a little permatex on the threading. I read in the HTKYSA to be careful not to get any inside the sender.
  19. Hey everyone, I'm just wondering in anyone has had this same problem. I have a 91 loyale. The Oil Pressure Gauge doesn't work so I disconnected the wire from the sender and ground it to the frame. Ok, gauge went all the way up to 85, so I assumed it was the OPSU. Went to Autozone and got the replacement, no big deal. Well I hooked up it up and nothing. Gauge doesn't move. I assume that the sender is bad even though its new. Any thoughts? Mike
  20. Ok, so I tried the garden hose technique to try and unclog the heater core. It worked great!!! Now I won't have to bundle up to drive to work in the morning. In the process of getting the hoses off the hc I must have pulled up the speedo cable, so speedometer isn't working.... oh well, I'll save that for another day. Thanks for the help everybody!!
  21. I had the same problem with my 91 Loyale. The ECU wasn't displaying any error. I was having the same problem with the engine before it got warm. I changed the O2 sensor and that fixed the problem. Mike
  22. Anyone ever change the heater core on a loyale? Heater barely works so I'm assuming this is the problem. I have changed HC on other vehicles, not sure how easy it is to get to on the soob. Mike
  23. Right, thats kind of what I was thinking, cause the noise is coming from under the right wheel well. Yeah I'm gonna get a second opinion. Thanks for the help!! Mike
  24. It sounds like the clicking is in sync with the speed of the wheel or axle... as I accelerate the clicking in turn speeds up. I took it to the shop yesterday and they said the axles where "solid", and they're not the problem. I might want to get a second opinion. Mike
