Levelling a Brat
Don't know if PK is still making lifts. You might want to check on that before you get too far in your plans.

wheel bearing question
Does $77.00 seem about right for rear wheel bearings on a 91 4WD loyale? It seems kind of high to me Does anyone know where I can get them cheaper?

Lifted my Loyale *PICS*
Thanks, man! I just disconnected the hi-lo switch on the side of the tranny from the 4wd shifter linkage. Then I used a 4' piece of 3/8" steel rod. I welded a bolt on the end to screw into the original ball swivel/ hi-lo shifter mount thingie. Then cut a hole in the tranny tunnel below where I wanted to mount the shifter, making it long and skinny to allow movement. Then, using trial and error methods, I bent the bar so it went from the hi-lo swith to the hole. The bar has a 90* bend at the end so it enters the cabin about an inch or so. After satisfaction with the routing of the steel bar, I welded a nut to the end (interior). I then made a shifter out af a (broken) breaker bar handle with two holes about an 1 1/2" apart, and a piece if 1/8" steel strap, and other various parts that you can figure out yourself if you made it this far. Here's a close up so you can see it better.[/img]

There's actually only 5" between the fender and the tire in the front. I'm going to lower the rear an inch or so, so the tire will be sitting at about 6" from the fenderin the rear. I think I could have gotten away with a 2" lift, but the would be much more trimming with the pugs (offset) and less clearance. Here are some better (?) pics to show the clearance arrangement. The toolbox under the diff is about 2 ft x 10 " tall. There's also a pic or my hi-lo shifter. [/img]' alt='a>'>

Got the pugs on my wagon today (pics now)
Ah yes. I've had the "Believe Your Family When They Say They Know What They Are Talking About " syndrome too. All I can say is, don't believe someone who says that they know what they are talking about, because they probably don't. Kinda like when someone says "trust me". You can't believe that!

If you buy ball to cone adapter washers you can use Subaru lugs. If yu have a VW performance shop near you they may have them in stock. I ordered mine from a place called vee dub parts unlimited. They were $19.00 delivered for 16 and they arrived 3 business days after I ordered.

Yes yes. Uggo will sport only the ugliest color that Subaru ever put out. It's the slight nuances like this that earn my automobile the destinctive title of Uggo. I've seen your pics and your wagon looks super cool(a lift would make it even cooler) . My tires still rubbed a bit even with a slightly monsterous lift. I had to do minor trimming.

My driveway is rutted and the spring is compressed. I'll have to take better pics :-\ Don't you like that cool 70's jacked-up look?

Lifted my Loyale *PICS*
Add another lifted wagon to the list! My 91 Loyale, "Uggo", finally has the lift that it needed so badly. It has a 3.5" Ozified lift (actually more like 3.75 F and 4.25 R) and 225/70R14 (26.5") Destination AT's. I've also equipped it with dual stick and cb. [/img]

Man, my Subaru is heavy!
Plus the RX7 has a very small rotary engine. I don't know what they weigh but I believe they are only 80 ci (1.3L?). It also has a very good HP/Displacement ratio, NA 2:1 I think. I wonderwhat it would be like in a Sube...

pug Wheels and lift questions
I could use your pug lugs! My 4x4 project is almost finished and I need to mount my wheels. Let me know.

Speaker Placement in 93 Loyale Wagon
I mounted a pair of 6x9's in the hatch of my 91 Loyale and my stereo sounds great! I cut a piece of 1/4" plywood to fit between the mounts for the plastic trim piece (you have to take it off first), cut out holes for the speakers in the plywood and the plastic trim piece, and screwed the plywood to the metal of the hatch. I then ran wire up the hatch to where the rest of the hatch wires run out, and into the car. By the way, I mounted the speakers vertically so they would fit with minimal metal augmentation. Also remember that the speakers will weigh down your hatch and old struts won't hold it up anymore.
