Well, a new week, a new cel code. Last week was cam sensor. This weeks winner is idle control system (failsafe). (01 obs ej22-31k) I have not noticed and change in the idle speed or any other symptoms other than the cel. I know very little of the idle control. What components could be involved? what can cause this? Why does this keep happening to me. Does god hate me? I knew I shouldn't have kicked that midget. Anywho, It's been -30f the past week. could extreme low temps bung up something or ice up something in the intake? I would just love to go a week without seeing my check engine light. Tho I fear that may unintentionally bring on the apocalypse. (that would solve this issue)

I installed hella micro d fogs in the stock location. I am quite happy with them for short range and peripheral coverage. (in ND we run a deer gauntlet every time you step into the car at night) I am running siverstar ultra's for headlights, wich are quite a bit brighter than stock. But I am am now addicted to automotive illumination. I got use to my 100w daylighters on the old 86 hatch. Just chasing the dragon now.

Got an 01 obs. I have been kicking around the idea of putting on some projection headlights(often found on ebay for $170-200). Does anyone know if they offer better performance than the stock ones. I am concerned about getting a better light pattern, not how cool my car looks as I pull up to the mall, to go to hot toppic for some ironic teeshirts, jamming out to fallout boy with my hat cocked ever so slightly to the left. Your right, I should go with a light bar and driving lights. I have looked extensively for a bumper mount driving light solution. And suggestions? Trying to do it on the cheap. thanks.

My 86 hatch, ea81 weberized is surging violently wile driving up any incline. Will drive up hill in reverse:slobber: . Dies uphill. also seems to die over 30 mph. Runs fine while in neutral. I just installed a manual choke(checked it to make sure it is open) and I just ran seafoam through it. Those are the only variables and both have me stumped. any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Andrew

I'll be there. -
I am going to start welding up a bumper/brush guard for the 86 hatch. I've been looking through pics to come up with ideas. I was hoping to get some of you usmb'ers to post good close ups of your handy work. Thanks, Andrew

Nope, They are installed properly. I just got my toe in corrected and the camber doesn't look quite as bad. I'm sitting at 2.5* now. I would like to get closer to zero, but it is tolerable. thanks for the suggestions. If I notice significant tire wear, I'll move the studs on my shock towers.

I have a fairly drastic camber issue on my lifted 86 hatch. I read the control arm mod. I was wondering how others on the board have remedied this issue. Any know kits available? Thanks, Andrew

I recently installed a 4" lift on my 86 hatch. I then realized that I no longer could get into 2nd, 4th, or revers. I removed the plastic cover and shifer boot and got 2nd and 4th back. I then had to remove the 4wd linkage at the shifter to gain clearance for reverse. I know I am going to have to lengthen/ move the 4wd linkage and possibly the shift linkage. Anyone have this issue? Good solutions? Pics? Thanks.

I appreciate all the help. I'll weigh the options and come up with something. Lift kit going in this weekend. Pics will folow. Thanks.

Nicely done. I was thinking of something more orthodoxed. But that is deliciously redneck.

Just a shot in the dark. Anyone know of any available fender flairs for an 86 gl hatchback? Or anything that could be retrofitted? I am lifting my hatch and running 16x7" wheels. The offset is perfect, but that other 2" will be protruding. I'm sure it will look fine, but some flairs would look fantastic. Thanks

Thanks for the info. I'll just tear into her and prepare for the worst. I'll post some pics of the completed project. Thanks again, Andrew
