Impreza - Will the 1.8 and 2.2 engines interchange?
slidewaysuby replied to Brettm57's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYes you can. Just swap the block and use your 1.8 intake and accessories on it. And run it off the 1.8 ecu. It’s an easy swap. You may need a different header depending on if the 2.2 is a single or dual port. It’s also possible to swap in a 2.5 phase1 without any rewiring. Search nasioc, a lot of people have done it on there.

95 impreza timing problem
so i bought a 95 impreza with a ej18 and the car has really bad hesitation (so bad it barely moves) so when i bought it i just figured the timing belt was off a tooth.....well i tore into it and all the marks line up perfect. anybody have any ideas on what could be causing the hesitation? Dylan

1987 Subaru GL - no start, dist. rotor not turning
sounds like a broken timing belt to me, the pistons are still going to move if the timing belt broke. Dylan

crack in turbo housing
my turbo on my ea82t wagon has a crack in the housing between the impeller and the wastegate valve i was wondering if i should replace the unit or will it be all right to use it? here are some pics of it http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/sickxj/detail?.dir=2ade&.dnm=d874.jpg http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/sickxj/detail?.dir=2ade&.dnm=d887.jpg thanks, Dylan

EA82 CV Axle question
turbos use axles with a 25 spline doj and n/a use 23 spline doj. i've heard that turbos with a 3 speed auto use 23 spline, but not positive on that one Dylan

D/R swap question -- axle issues??
well i learn something everyday, i thought all gl-10 were turbos. but on a side note he states it has rear discs, so i'm guessing it is a turbo. Dylan

D/R swap question -- axle issues??
since your wagon is a gl-10, i assume its a turbo. if it is your gonna need to use the front axles out of the 86 (the n/a trannys use 23 spline shafts and the turbo trannys use 25 spline shafts) along with the rear diff since the ratios are differnt between the trannys. the rear axles wont need to be swaped. im doing the same swap into my 88 turbo wagon either this week or next. axles for d/r swap
My wagon is a turbo. so i have to change the rear diff cuz the one in there now is a 3.7 ratio and the dual range im switching in is a 3.9 ratio. also the 5spd turbo trannys use 25 spline shafts and d/r use 23 spline shafts with the exception of the rx fulltime d/r. sorry for the confusion Dylan
