  1. hey, good to see you finally found what you wanted, i'm jealous, i want spfi in my sube! let see some pics of this thing. how many k?
  2. i can't exactly remember if there is a click noise after a timing belt goes... but the just driving along thing would be a sign of that.
  3. ok, well i looked at it today when it was light out and it seems like it is just the section of driveshaft that is just back of the centre bearing. The u-joint that is gone is the one closest to the rear diff... so it looks looks like all i have to do it undo 4 bolts by the diff and 4 that are by the centre bearing and that piece of driveshaft should come out. is this correct? is there a name for just that section of driveshaft?
  4. Nice I actually know someone else that lives on Harbourview, but just a little ways down from the "secret access backyard" areas. Do you have any pics of this turbo sube that you used to have... or perhaps a driveshaft kicking around? haha. I haven't been looking too much for subes lately, but I picked up my 87 gl with dual range in really nice conditon for $2000 like 2 years ago. I know there should be lots of them kicking around, but depends what shape you want it to be in. I would try to get a newer one with fuel injection and just add a dual range because those are a must. Right now mine has an underpowered carb, and it would be way to much effort to put in a spfi engine and weber 32/36's are pretty pricey around here. I'll let you know if I see any. Once those are undone, how easily does it pull out? Any estimates on time for the job? So you are into welding aswell... any bush bumpers in the making yet for the ea-82's...
  5. Yep, I know where Sooke is... too bad Harbourview got gated off. Well I will take a look in some shops in town and see if I can get any hook ups. I wonder how much Malahat will try to charge for a driveshaft... How hard is it to pull a driveshaft and what tools do you use. What do you drive bushbasher? There used to be another local guy on here that was in engineering at UVic and lived toward Chemainus who was into Subes.
  6. So after trying to determine where some knocking sound was coming from, I finally found it (after it got much louder) Looks like it's a u-joint, but I hear there aren't replacable... so how do I fix this?? I remember hearing about a napa part number for a u-joint that I should be able to take to a drivetrain shop and they will be able to fix it for me... or do i need to find a new driveshaft? Thanks in advance.
  7. i think the blue hatch looks pretty sweet. the banana looks like he is doing some pelvic thrusting...
