oh the choices...
i really want his silver wagon, the one behind the white one in that pic but he won't budge on it. what's wrong with demo derby's? they're all in good fun and if you hang out in the pits you get to see some creativity/redneck engineering at its finest.

Replace your PCV valve!
where's the pcv valve on my 83? noob question i know

oh the choices...
so i might have a chance to buy another soob for pretty cheap. thinking of a couple different options to do with it. option 1: demolition derby car, i'd probably be the only one out there with 4wd and able to do drifts, which would help in the figure 8 races. option 2: make it my off-road thrash-the-crap-out-of-it car option 3: finish the interior and make it my daily while turning my 83 into the hunting/camping rig i want it to be here's the car in question: what do you think? which option would you go with? just looking to get some insight from people here....

why?
i thought about draining it just to see if my tank is dirty or rusty or whatever....
-
why?
why is there a drain plug on my gas tank? is that an old subaru thing because i've never seen that on any of my other cars.

GlobeTrottin' Fool
a RHD conversion on my 83 wagon would be awesome! love that impreza in the first pic, you can tell the old lady on the motorized scooter wants to race

what would fit?
how intense would those mods be? i could probably pick up the whole car for under 300$ so would it be worth it to buy the car and just retrofit as i see needed? also how much would a transmission rebuild kit be? side note: the car runs and drives just fine but he said the P.O. took out the underside of the dash so all the wires are exposed...

what would fit?
what would fit on my '83 gl wagon from a newer wagon? i'm guessing its about an 87 but not really sure. will try to put up a pic tomorrow. just wondering what parts i could put on my wagon from a newer one...thanks

air fresheners trees ARE useful...
saw this at a gas station, so i asked the guy what he used for the pattern and he told me those little air freshener trees. and i got a new pic of mine, which is running a lot better now. still have some work to do but i don't think she's the underpowered slug i did when i first got her:

i am officially not subaru savvy (need some help!)

i am officially not subaru savvy (need some help!)
i need some help badly! i can't figure out how to change the water pump/alternator v-belt and am feeling pretty stupid right now. can't find a tensioner pulley to loosen the belt and i can't seem to find the right size for anything. but on the plus side i spent all day bonding with my soob. i now know that car inside and out, but ran out of time and money to finish everything i wanted. and i'm still baffled by the mystery sound coming from underneath the front of the car. but otherwise feeling a lot smarter than i did this morning before i started.

thought this was kinda cool
found my owner's manual and in it i found the original dealer info from the window: and also the actual price of the car with the dealer installed options: and i have no idea what the M.B.I. is

what is this noise?
hey thanks guys will definately check that out tomorrow before i head down to do some studying at the library
-
what is this noise?
no change left or right, or in reverse. it sounds louder when the clutch is depressed only cuz the engine rpm's drop.
-
what is this noise?
its an 83 gl wagon d/r 4wd 4-spd manual
-
what is this noise?
not sure what this noise is but i think its coming from the front underneath. it sounds like i'm dragging a chain down the road but when i look underneath there's nothing hanging down. it only does it while moving so i hope it isn't a wheel bearing or something similar.

i tried the search...
92justy you are the man! as soon as i have time i'm pulling off my heat shield cuz according to that the hitachi cap doesn't have a rubber cap on the top and the design is different so just take just one look now thank you very much!

i tried the search...

i tried the search...
...and it came up with nothing useful. i need to replace the cap and rotor on my '83 but when i was at the parts store there were two different options for the cap. no idea which one to buy, can someone help me out please? BTW its a 4-spd, 4wd....

some more pics....
it actually was in mccall since '83 and they can get pretty bad about salting the roads (they get about 5' of snow a year)
-
some more pics....
yah right now i'm just looking to stop the rust and keep the engine going. as much as i'd like to take her out and do some offroading, she's gonna be a pavement princess until i can get something else for a daily:banghead:

my other project
the clearcoat isn't in the greatest of shape on the right side, that and the right front fender needs replaced. it won't a problem about the door jams and under the hood because i'll be taking the doors/trunk lid off and pulling engine before i repaint it. also i'm trying to hunt down all the interior parts necessary to switch it to a black interior. i've also considered keeping the original color but either way it needs resprayed.
