  1. looks like she cleaned up pretty nice. good find!
  2. I can't believe that no one pointed this out. The guy who did that will be the one who really gets his rump roast handed to him. Not that I agree with the tree huggers and all that, (I love spotted owls, they taste just like chicken.) but you guys in Oregon have nothing to *************** about. Look at the facts: Total of Oregon Roadless (read no trails) Land: 1,963,190 acres Total of Idaho Roadless (see above) Land: 9,317,108 acres Idaho has the most roadless wilderness area in the lower 48. I've been through some of it on horseback that would make killer trails for 4x4's. So until Oregon adds another 7.4 million acres, I think that Idahoans have more to complain about. * Please do not take this post personally, it has been typed by someone who has had a very rough week, and has consumed waayyy too many beers. **Total acreage taken from this site: http://roadlessland.org/index.php
  3. Time for an ultra-noob question: Could someone put up a pic of the angled blocks installed? I'm trying to picture this in my head but I don't think its right. So you would be installing the blocks so that they move the top of the strut towards the inner fender, correct? And because I have an '83 GL, I'd only have to do this to the front and then crank up the rear-end?
  4. Granted I've never lifted/put bigger tires on, but why do you cut out behind the rear wheels when the front of the wheel is practically touching the back of the door? Car looks good, BTW.
  5. well you might be able to talk to the autozone there in bayamon (love the store locator ) and see if they could special order some of that nite shades in for you.
  6. this stuff is a tad on the pricey side, but works wonderfully: VHT Nite Shades

    what if?

since when has your diesel been practically free? and yes you should do this...mainly cuz it'll be sweet
  8. i really liked the look of their back bumpers. especially with the spare tire carrier and the jerry can holder. now someone in the USA needs to make something similar.
  9. haha, i always thought that was only true for mopeds. i never got a pic of it but we rattle canned the roof and doors yellow and put taxi on both sides because all my friends kept asking for rides. that car was our "official" party car for about a year since we always packed it full of people and went to random parties throughout town.
  10. first off, i'm kind of sad right now. i haven't been able to drive roo (my wagon) since the beginning of july and its been sitting at a friend's place over 1000 miles away. last time i was there roo was covered in a good layer of dust. just for kicks i tried to start her. of course she started up right away. now for the good news. i'm moving back to idaho and thus will have the chance to clean roo up and she can take over as my DD again. i think my friends are almost more excited than i am since this means we will have a vehicle to go to the mountains, haul skateboards, longboards, snowboards, skis, mountain bikes and hunting dogs with. not to mention all the other cool things that old subaru wagons are good for. the only thing i will miss about my current daily is the fuel mileage. but seeing as how i will be able to use a longboard for over half of my daily travels i think i'll be spending just about the same amount for fuel. (because i am from idaho and not a year-round warm state, i am used to using long boards/bikes during the winter unless it snows lol) so expect much improvement to roo over the next 6 months or so. and here's the car she'll be replacing. the plastic wonder that is a saturn lol:
  11. i did not know that VW made these at all. They are called the VW Golf Country and they were only sold in Europe.
  12. who says old cavaliers aren't good? i think the trunklid sums it all up nicely:
  13. that's what i keep telling my family. they are worried just because it's an '83
  14. on tuesday the 3rd i'll be heading out of lewiston over to eastern montana. not sure how my subaru will handle the 840 miles trip. kinda nervous to take it, but i'll be taking a complete set of tools so if nothing else this will be a great time to bond with her even more. so anybody in montana keep an eye out for this car: i shouldn't be too hard to miss, i'll probably be the only old subaru with idaho license plates in that part of the country. and to make sure its me, look for a V in front of all the other letters. wish me luck!
  15. yep i'll be heading out tuesday the 3rd. new job forces me to relocate from idaho to montana. specific town will be sidney. the fun part will be making sure that my subaru will get me across montana.
  16. you should paint the headliner to match also
  17. yep ain't that the truth? the centercaps on mine were loose also but i just ran a thin bead of silicone around the inside....problem solved...
  18. ...at the expense of myself. ever since i got my subaru it made this noise like metal being bounced around. it was driving me crazy. so last night i decided to fix it, whatever "it" was. got her up on some stands and took the front wheels off and proceeded to crawl underneath looking for something that might be loose. spent about 20 mins doing that when my foot hit the wheel that came off the right side. turned out the noise was from the chrome trim ring that was on the right side wheel. it was loose so i just took them all off before one of the others decided to do it too. that really made feel pretty stupid, and once again it reminded me to K.I.S.S.
  19. well i don't know who's it is, but they don't have it listed for sale so it's probably there for show. unless they're not putting on their website....
  20. just be careful when you get around 88mph. looks sweet as hell BTW
