....as promised i got some more pics of my wagon today after doing some homework, it almost looks out of place on the street i parked at. pretty much the worst of the cancer...
-
actually its an 89, i just don't have any pics of the tails yet. but i've thought about putting some 90-91 tails on it to throw people off. i'm also stuck on a color to repaint it. i'm thinking emerald green, or navy blue.
-
its too bad you're so far away, because then i could ask you for help doing all that. while i'm fairly mechanically inclined, i don't have the time to figure it out or the tools to do it myself.
-
i'm not really worried about what i put in it, as far as an EJ-25 or whatnot, i just want something that will swap in because the current engine is so severely underpowered
-
would it be possible to swap in an EJ25 motor out of a '94 impreza into my '83 wagon? if so what all would i need for the swap?
-
8$ a can? wow i payed 3.99$ a can
-
wow that thing is clean! nice score
-
yeah that's the plan for now, just want to keep it running
-
so i changed the air filter yesterday, and needless to say it looked like it hadn't been done in a long time:
-
in addition to the '83 subaru i just picked up i also have this waiting for some attention: any other honda guys on here?

its got a 4-spd manual w/142,xxx miles on it. i like the green that your car is and i'm thinking about respraying mine in olive green. -
ok now its time for an ultimate noob question. why are there 2 spark plugs on one side of the engine, and 2 on the other side? i've heard of the subaru boxer engine but i didn't think they were that old? BTW feel free to laugh because all this subie stuff is brand new to me.

i just did, why is it set to only 5 messages allowed? server issues or what? -
as the title states i'm looking for some trails in northern idaho/eastern washington. preferably somewhat close to the lewiston/moscow area i.e. less than 100-150miles away. thanks
-
yep cops here in lewiston are *********************s. you should try explaining that you just got your license back after 6 mos. and are a little rusty and that's why you swerved when messing with the radio

see i thought the EA81 referred to the generation. thanks for the help.

Well i picked up a 1983 Subaru GL 5-door for free today. Traded my 1988 f-250 for it. The truck wasn't running because of a clutch issue and the fact that i don't have the time to fix it. i only have one picture of it right now and its not a glamorous shot, so i'll get some better pics up tomorrow after i get out of class. don't worry that smoke is from seafoam, apparently it had never been done before

So far I'm pretty happy with it, just wondering what things to watch out for with these cars. And since i have no previous experience with these cars, what do the codes i've been seeing on the boards mean? i.e. ea81 or whatever it is. i only have one picture of it right now and its not a glamorous shot, so i'll get some better pics up tomorrow after i get out of class.

thanks, will definitely check that out. yah i was pretty happy with the price as well

i picked up an 83 gl 5-door wagon for free today. put some seafoam through it, and this is what we saw: if i had waited about another minute there would have been a lot more smoke. instantly noticed a 2-300RPM drop in idle speed, smoother idle, more noticeable acceleration, and a little better fuel mileage (won't be able to tell more until i fill it up again).
