  1. oh sorry, they sure looked like goin to church clothes, and your wifey told me they made you leave the family outing because you got drunk and was wondering around singing "i feel pretty,oh so pretty"
  2. yep thats about it,beggars cant be choosers,if i get 6 months out of this suspension i'll be happy,if it were any other type of car,no way,but the soobie is so easy,i'll do it again anytime.
  3. not on my way home,i got the old valve out, and put one in from one of my probes,i bled all 4 tires and now my pedal is better then before.
  4. hey where did you go there buddy, jim said you took off out of there like you had your panties in a bunch ,oh and hey stalker man(jim)were those your little house on the praire going to church clothes ,
  5. i dont get the laughing you get with the spare, they just look puzzeled, but they are amazed at how easy everything is to work on.
  6. well got the suspension tube replaced today,no thanks to jim lol,me get dirty no way ,then a freind(who jim kept calling freddy for some reason, freddie, freddie, freddie) i think the boy had,had a little to much coors, well anyway we start bleeding the brakes and freddie breaks off a bleeder,so i drive the car home about 3.5 miles, and proceed to break off a easyout in the caliper,DAMMIT!!! well i eventrally get it out,and slap a bleeder valve out of one of my probes,in and whala im done, hey jim cut down on the coors there buddy :-p
  7. well got the old one off,and got another one from miles, yep hes here in ohio, for the weekend, anyway the new one had some cancerous holes so we filled them.
  8. just in case its the TB heres a link that is very helpful http://www.economysuperstar.com/milesfox/subaru/service/timingbelt.htm
  9. i'll have to ask jim where it came from,i bought it from him.
  10. ok in the pic. i found, where its circled in red,but on the drv.side
  11. its FWD there shouldnt be a differential should there?
  12. rear suspension tube, now that sounds like what im seeing,if i have to i'll replace any steel that needs it,i love my soobie and im not ready to let her go lol,not just yet anyways lol
  13. does anyone have a pic. of a sway bar,i'll know it when i see it.
  14. lets put it this way, when looking at the car from the rear,my drv.side rear tire leans in at the top,and rubs the spring.the spring comes down to the what? and that goes to what?<--- this what is what broke, like i said i left my manual at jims and cant check the proper name,it looks about 2 1/2"-3" in diameter, its not straight,it has bends in it,but leads to the pass.side,it possible it could be a sway bar,ive just never seen one that big lol
  15. hey guys needing a little help again, got the timingbelts changed last week and the soobie is running great,my new problem is,i pulled out of this guys driveway and i hear a really loud cluck,so i check it out and im sure of the technical name,i left my soobie manual at jims house, anyway the tubing that runs from the drv.side to the pass.side,a freind called it the frame, but i dont think its the frame,it connects to the shock and a-arm,its about 3" in diameter, well my question is,how long should it take to replace, jim has a spare but not sure if its the right one,are they all the same,oh its FWD,any help would be greatly appreciated.i didnt have my camera with me or i would have posted pics.
  16. ok,so why did the tire fly off,at what point did it disconnect, more info please.
  17. its useless to fix,its a subaru thing, just join SLNACA and move on
  18. my problem starts when i look up parts for my 88' GL-10 turbowagon and it asks which motor 1.8L sohc 4,sohc 5,or the 1.8L sohc 7,and i have to tell them what the hell are you talking about,4,5,7 HUH? ,all i know is its a EA82 1.8L 1800.4,5,7 dont mean crap to me,what the hell are they talking about,i even asked jim(86subaru)hes also clueless.
  19. the main thing you need to remember is,you cant just slap a turbo on a non-turbo motor and expect it to work for very long, everything on a turboed car is made stronger to withstand the additional torque, things like the axels, tranny, the crank, these things are made stronger on a turboed car, people just think,i;ll slap a turbo on it,and be fast,it doesnt work that way.a perfect example a 18 yearold kid that lives around here has a nice eagle talon, well he said the same thing i'll turbo it,a week into geetin on it,he tears the crank out,the only problem was eagle didnt make a turboed crank for his car, when all was said and he has spent $5k getting a custom built cam and getting it running, what makes this kid even dumber is he wouldnt believe everybody when they told him why this happened,so he just had the crank replaced, cant wait till it blows up again.
  20. no the probe was never offered as an awd,but it was thought about,it never came to pass. and 4eat in the probe also stands for 4-speed Electronic Automatic Transmission. thats wierd.hmmmmmm they used this tranny with the 4 cyl and v6 just with diff. bell housings.
  21. did you check ebay, ive seen sooble emblems and badges on there
  22. i keep hearing 4EAT tranny,my 89' ford probe also has the 4eat atx tranny(the probe was made by mazda)are these the same trannies just a different bell housing, and if so are were they made by mazda,i just find it hard to believe that 2 totally different automakers would use the same model name for a atx tranny.
