thanks for getting back with me. i hope it is the air mass rather than throttle body. i will take it to dealership and put on diagnostic machine. their is no check engine light on though. they will charge me about 120 bucks. i dont know much about throttle bodies, but they told me a new one would cost 600 bucks. its got to be some sensor, since its worse as the car engine heats up. also strange the the problem clears up with fuel injection additive. thanks for your time.

i know this is a subaru forum. besides my subaru, i've got a 1997 jetta 2.0 gas. it stumbles upon acceleration. i havent gotten much help from jetta forum. car smooths out as long as rpms are up. runs good when cold. also when adding gumout fuel injection the problem gets better. airflow meter or problem in throttle body? this forum has been great for my subaru. can anyone help with my jetta thanks

someone said id cooked my rings because i was getting smoke up from the air box. would not the plugs foul if that was the case. also motor is very hard to start. it keeps hitting but wont fire althoug sometimes it will. afraid im going to burn the starter up trying to crank it. 1986 gl wagon 2bl carb

i think your probably right about everything, although i dont understand why i was getting oil in the breather before it ran hot. also , why do you think the car was bogging down to begin with?

was going down the road just fine, then it started to bog down it got worse as i pulled over i noticed the heat gauge going up but it never relly got that hot . afteri t cooled i noticed the top radiator hose had blown. replaced that & fianlly got it started. very little compression & smoke & oil coming from breather. ive noticed oil in the breather for about a week but the car was still running ok. anyway after i shut it down,smoke was coming from all parts of the engine, yet the gauge did not registerr hot. 1986 gl wagon

im about 90 percent sure ive g0ot a cracked head or blown gasket. but----after a week i fired it up. no more steam coming out the back and its running cool. i put a treatment of that liquid glass in last weekend , but it didnt work, at least not then.. like i said i let it sit for a week now it seems to be ok. although ive only run it short distances

car ran great for about 1000 miles after liquid glass treatment, now it's running hot again after driving about 60 miles. wondering if i should dump another bottle in, or keep driving and adding water till i have to repair head. what do you think?

i never new where the crak was. alli know is that i was getting steam out the tail pipe and losing water. so i tried this liquid glass & it worked. just wanted to see iff i could find some else that's used it to get an idea how long this stuff will hold. thanks
