  1. well all it needed was a good pat on the back and a burping all good, for now. now the fans dont turn on! WTF!!!
  2. the leaking hose was just the other night, well, yea I have not burped the radiator yet. I guess I will do that. and see what happens
  3. It is the upper radiator hose that was causeing the coolent leak, replaced the hose. started it let it set for 15 min till the car warmed up and reached the normal temp. And now the car still over heats. it reaches near the red mark on the temp gauge but once I accerate the temp goes down to normal. Got the Timing belt, waterpump and gasket, tenisors, pullers replaced 2 days ago. Now what?
  4. :banana:Well I dont really know what is leaking cause it is dark, but from what I could see is that it is leaking from the behind the timing cover, under the crankshaft, guessing the water pump, or the water pump gasket dunno yet. have to wait till tomarrow. Barely maid it home, saw white smoke coming out of the exaust. so guessing the HG blew. no coolent in the radiator. making nice bubbly sound like a bong So which you guys think is better replace the motor or fix whats wrong with the motor. I was thinking of putting in the turbo EJ22 Motor. if it came to it. I know I need the wiring harness ETC:banana: If possible putting the WRX motor:grin: 260,128 miles on the motor 1990 Legacy wagon LS 5 speed
  5. the sound occurs during accleration, the sound and vibs happens every once inawhle, but only one acceleration is when it happens. the over all driving of the car has not changed.
  6. :confused:so I am getting this mysteries thumping sound from my front driver side corner, I look under neath the car and dont see anything wrong, I got new tires and had them balanced on the inside. replaced the CV joints and ball joint got an aliment. nothing loose or damaged. the CV boots are not torn. I can hear and feel the thumping sound from the driver side front corner... could a unbalanced wheel cause the thumping? Help:confused:
  7. OK, well I just saw the motor and the headers the headers stopped before the up pipe, so I was guessing all the new gen subs are like that. well any way thanks for the info.
  8. :-\so I have an 1990 Legacy wagon LS and I am going to replace the exaust headers cause the are cracking and getting tired of fixing them, so I was down at the Subaru parts store getting new valve gaskets set got bored waiting in line started looking at the newer Gen subs engine on display and noticed the hearders go to the front around the side then back, looking like a J instead of the Y shape that I have on my wagon. so.... I was wondering of I could fit the newer Gen Headers on my 1990 Wagon? If could what year and model am I looking at to pull it off from? WOuld it make a differnce in any way? Like performance, sound? anything?
  9. Garbage not worth the time nor money.
  10. so I read that you can do a EJ25 phase 1 motor using EJ22 heads. Hybrid from Subafreak. Now I wonder if it will work the other way a EJ22 with EJ25 DOHC cams? is it possiable?:-\
  11. :banana:so I posted the 04+ WRX springs on my 90 Legacy wagon anything else that will work? maybe STI springs? Found some WRX and STI Springs for sale on Craigslist for $40
  12. well a friend told me that the 04 and up WRX Wagons springs will work with my wagon I have a 1990 Legacy LS Wagon True? And will the WRX springs lower or at least stiffin the ride?
  13. ok, so I replaced the Radiator with a brand new one, metal w/ plastic side tanks from autozone(only place that had it stock) other wise I would of gotten it from performance radiator heard that theirs is all metal. wonder if it is true? so the water temp gauge goes UP for 10 min then back to normal temp, not the Tstat sorry about that. did that 2 times so far. I am not blowing white smoke out. (so it is an internal leak, very slow) replaced the heater core hoses and upper, lower radiator hoses. was gonna change the Tstat but didnt cause a prob. the over heating was cause the radiator cracked first time. Second time was cause the upper radiator hosed cracked. Overheated 6 months ago. replaced radiator, heater core hoses, upper and lower radiator hoses. BUT NOT TSAT. live in apt so cant really take the tsat out and put in hot water.
  14. so I asked the Q about the lightened flywheel. 2.5 and 2.2 are the same size flywheel is what everyone is saying. so the suface grip area is the same also? 225Mili I think it is? and how much does the stock flywheel weight? and the lighened flywheel weigh? 1990 Legacy LS 249,000 miles and rolling
  15. I dont know if the Tstat is going bad. cause the Tstat will go up then back down to normal did that once. the car has over heated 2 times already. but it has never over heated? cheeked the radiator and it was half empty. filled, burped. Dont know were the coolent went. no HG gone bad, No leaking of radiator, hose, or any were. any clue? 1990 legacy LS 249,000 miles.
  16. wondering do they make a lightend flywheel for a 1990 legacy N/A I found for 91 -93 legacy guessing cause they came with the turbo. but what about the EJ22. yes, no. and will the Turbo flywheel work with the N/A Got the clutch would like the lightned flywheel. thanks 1990 Legacy LS 5 speed
  17. Dome light turns or flashes. on by its self, when I take right turns, on the door indicator it shows the driver door open. only does this on right turn and driver door is the only door that shows opening. other then that it works fine. what can I do? 1990 legacy LS wagon
  18. Dont really like the new legacy concept looks way too much like an Audi/infinity/Toyota/Chevy and ford. to me nothing is appealing.
  19. so I had more Idle problems car died when in neutral at any speed and any RPM, got me wondering. Looked under the hood. I have a after market Y pipe with 2 air filters on. well it fell off and I lost a filter. put it back on and used tape to cover the other hole untill I get another filter on. and now the car runs fine like nothing happend. could it be running too lean. that caused the probs?
  20. well, maybe the rear diff, check the fluids in the pumpkin, if it is a howling sound or a grinding sounds, they may sound like a prop plane. they get louder as you go faster. that is my guess. I dont know much about Subaru's as much as I know about Z's.
  21. 1990 Legacy LS 5 speed well I have ask about my idle probs before. but this is new, so I noticed the idle jumps then dies if the speed of over 45 mph but it is under 45 the car will do fine. I can keep the car in gear and coast down to 45 then put it in neutral it will idle fine as long as it is under 45, but it is over 45 like coasting down hill and the speed is increasing from what ever speed above 45 the idle will jump then die, only when in neutral. The temp is normal, no idiot lights on. What is the deal?
  22. 1990 legacy LS 5 speed well driving on the freeway at 60 mph@2500 RPM then shift into neutral to coast down hill. the idle goes down to 400rpm then 700rpms, back down and then dies, does this almost every time I go into neutral from any rpm but mostly off of free way speeds. and when starting the car on a cold day the idle starts off high around 1700rpm then drops down to 700rpms and then back up back and fourth.does that until the car is warm. or until I step on the gas and the idle drop and stays at 700rpms. besides that the car does fine. What is the deal?:-\
  23. well I have a 1990 legacy wagon LS, and I want to get lowering springs for it. and struts also. so far I can get combos lowering springs and struts together, or just the lowering springs, then the adjustable springs and what not. ever hear of the Monroe sensa track strut/gas shock? well if not they are self adjusting for the road, they raise and lower the car,is what I noticed what happened after driving through rough bumpy roads (raised), and freeway driving (lowered). stiffing and soften the ride. I have used them in my 84 Nissan/Datsun 300ZX and loved them. with a car full of people never bottomed out. what I want to know is if I get the lowering springs and combine them with Monroe sensa track struts if it will damage the springs? I want the self adjusting struts cause I drive on bumpy rough roads and the car goes every were I go, but I also want the corning and handling too, plus I do drive around with a wagon full of people too. also getting bigger sway bars, and shock tower bar. to help with the corning
