  1. Subarus typically don't do well here. Theres too much understeer and not enough power to put the drivetrain to use. And weight.

Honda CRX do verywell if they survive the first few hours of madmax untill things settle down.

My friend was on the team that entered an old 5 series beamer. I think they welded the engine to the crossmember.

  2. My buddy has been rocking RWD since we busted his front axle during the weekly subaru beat down. That was almost a year ago and weve had no problems. This car gets ************ kicked. Slid into ditches and curbs, brake stands and burnouts, jumps, and it still gets loaded up and grunted out on road trips.

  3. alright thanks guys.. i got 4 new 175/70/13's.. another ? where can i get aftermarket wheels? it has an odd pattern right? like 154x4 or something like that...92 loyale 4x4 thanks

You pretty much cant. Peugeot 505 wheels are pretty sweet and share the same pattern. Make sure you use the lug nuts that come from the peugeot or it wont work.

As for tire size issues. This is for the most part 100% true, but..... as will everything you can push it to the limit. You CAN run in 4wd with slight odd ball tires. However it WILL tear up your driveline UNLESS you are on extremely loose surfaces such as... gravel, snow, ice.. If on grippy surfaces you will bind your running gear and either cause wheel slippage, or you will brake an axle, diff, driveshaft, or your transmission. The same driveline damage can occur from driving in 4wd (with correct sized tires) if you are taking tight turns on a grippy surface. Since your left to right, and front to back wheel speeds will be different.

  4. As GD mentioned there are some differences between the 90-94 Legacies. The ECU is in the same location, but the main difference is in the wiring and ECU type.

So again, as GD suggested, it would be best to get the wiring for the same year as the engine.

As for removing the harness, you will need to remove the dash to get at everything. You'll most likely want to trim down the harness to just have the engine components, but to do this, you'll have to get the main harness out.

It shouldn't matter about which year as long as the wiring & engine are from the same year. However, I'd probably recommend the 92-94 non-turbo Legacies though since there is less confusion on the ECU type.

Thanks boss, I didn't know the vehicle harness and the engine harness were tied together. This solves some confusion.

  5. None of the bolts are reverse thread, the trick is to use your spanner or bar aimed towards the crank, it helps to stop the engine spinning whilst undoing them.

If they've been in a while, they can take a bit of force, but the torque to do them up isn't that much.

Dont mistake inch pounds with foot pounds either, i made this mistake after a long day and its not pretty.

  6. anyone done this?

Slap a vw bus pop top onto a loyale.

Imagine a nice dual range, ej swapped loyale with 30" tires and a 6" lift. All accented with a nice bull bar, big antenna, fishing rod holders and a vw canvas pop top to be the cherry ontop.
