  1. only took about 15-20 min to put the cable back in.. I wish I could have a nice light feeling cable like that for the life if the cable. I think my trying to get it in gear on the highway in 4th it feels a little funny it takes more effort to take it out of gear then pushing it in. tranny fluid for sure is going to need to be changed
  2. I called all dealers in a 40mi range all need to be ordered just took the old cable out only took 5 min lol cable still felt very good must of just been crap metal.
  3. Subaru calls it the release cable? I might buy one from subaruparts.com just to have an extra on hand.
  4. the part in the picture was from rock auto almost lasted 5 months.. the dealer would not have it in until Monday.. I have a meeting on Saturday besides if the OEM cable broke it's not like they were going to give me a refund or a free replacement.
  5. yeah too bad I don't have any bolts in the car but it was hell trying to get into 3rd it's really hard when you have a worn bushing and when it finally goes in i gotta blip the throttle again. But when mine first popped I was parked forward in a parking spot about 50 miles from home.. I would of driven it home but it was rush house and I would have to head back over the GWB and bronx it would of been way too many starts and stops for me... But I never forget the sound when it did pop.. but the funny thing is it never did feel like it was binding when it did let go. I also learned something don't try to start in reverse because I stalled and I had to push myself forward a little to get myself out of reverse.
  6. but I would have to worry about the bolt falling out again and again because the other end is pressed closed (maybe not right term) but it happened right as soon as i got off the exit from my job this morning I was like aww crap not this again. but it did not have the feel of when a cable snaps (feeling tight and loud snap) I got out looked under the hood and it was fine.. then I went up to look and that's when I saw it sheered right off.
  7. Its not the cable that snapped but the pin that hooks on the pedal... Im still out but I will get a picture.
  8. But not the cable but the round pin that hooks to the clutch pedal...
  9. no flush yet that should of been done in the fall but I kept getting people having me to look at what's wrong with their cars and I did not have time enough for my own.. I know I've had the motor relay stuck before which causes the pump to run while the car is off.. I never got the replacement relay for that.. I think the low temps have some kind of effect.
  10. Its a relay id have to check the price
  11. In the car now and only getting code 51 but going to go for a quick drive above 25 to see if its the same code. yep still just code 51.. I guess the relay got stuck because of the cold?
  12. I cleared them last night but I did not bother to check which codes came up again.
  13. what caliper bolt are you talking about? Because I set mine to the FSM and mine backed out along with the bolt that keeps the whole caliper from flipping upwards to take the pads out.. How all that happened I will never know.
  14. trust me they still slide it does not need to move 5 inches for you to see it. Mine was so bad I could not get the bracket off at all and that's with hitting it with a hammer. Took a bit of heat to finally get it out.
  15. you use break caliper grease by permatex.. also the whole reason to put grease on them is to help the caliper slide.. you may or may not know only one part slide and one part is in light contact with the rotor so when you step on the brakes the bracket slides on the caliper pin to take up slack.. When you have a stuck pin like I did you will smell your brakes....

I always have done something to my car it's electronic
  17. pictures? Also I switched to ceramic pads because the composite pads leaves a film that makes it feel like warp rotors.. I've got about 30K on my rotors and pads and no more warped feeling.
  18. maybe one of you can tell me what code I have? it seems like I have 3 code which is all it can store.. but I'm confused if it's 51, 23, 21, 42 or 22 lol So I did a video one of the flashes looked like a 42 but maybe another set of eyes would help.
  19. Yeah make sure you do that.. I had a huge issue with my left rear which required lots of heat with PB sprayed on a hot surface plus hammering the caliper bolt then finally I was able to get it out and lube it up.
