  1. I think these are "diaphrams". One of them is blown out. I do not know where the vacuum hoses end up. Came off a 83 DL Wagon. Is it ok for me to by-pass them? Any help would be great. Thanks!
  2. edrach, Is wd40 good or should I use something else?? and what about the rust should I cut it out and use sheetmetal? Most of the shock tower is gone to, should I try to rebuild the tower?
  3. I LOVE my 83 wagon yes it might rust out befor the ea81 runs out but I run it more than 50 miles a day for work and I can't beat the mpg!!

  5. I took the jeep 600 miles to get this but hey it was a good weekend for us. We talk him down from 1995 to 1200 and it made it back by it self 300 miles:banana:
  6. tbcboo, I have one too but it is an 83 GL and I love it cuz' of the 50 miles round trip to work and back (high mpg). And I can work on it no timing belt (ea81) I am trying to keep it stock as much as I can. Yes it would be nice to have it 4wd BUT I have a Brat and a jeep for that. Do you know what happens when you get Jeep & an fwd Subaru wagon to mate? YOU GET A BRAT! but I like your wagon I would keep it but that just me. Good Luck!
  7. Thank you, but I have a :eek:HUGE:eek: hole where there should be wheel well and tower (I SEE DAY LIGHT) . Some how the shock is staying on!?! I see alot of thiszzz and this:Flame: in my future and PLEASE, PLEASE alot of help from you guys too!!! THANKS.
  8. Well, thank you! I guess it is a Brat thing but to let you know we (the wife and I) did this in that storm that had 2 tornados touch down in Kansas. Now I think I am going to beating a:horse: cuz I have that shock tower, wheel well rust thing go on, and from what I had read it is a to fix. pic are coming.
  9. Hey 13hrs. round trip and now my wife got her brat! It did set me back $1250 but my family did help (i do still have to pay them back). The thing is that, is there some reason WHY the spark plug wires are backwards on the distibutor cap? It drove over 300miles that way, but it looks wrong! Any ideas?

  11. I did get a 1983 FWD wagon for $650 little rough but it does fire right up! If it last me 6 years then I got my money out of it. The wife still wants a Brat but we need to save for it!

  14. I am new to the forum and I am looking for some advice. I am looking at possibly buying a 1984 Subaru Brat 4 cylinder, 4 speed, 4x4. 150xxxmiles New tires, new wheel cylinders, new right front axle, new battery, and recent tune up. $1995.00 Does this sound like a good deal? The pics look good. It's about 5 hours from where I live (Nebraska). Thanks!
