  1. Will a harness from an a/t Lego work for a swap to an ea manual tranny? Does the ECU need to be from a man or can it be from an a/t? Where can I get a pressure plate from an xt-6? Maybee flywheel too?
  2. I was hoping that the discussion would end up funny and it did. I love it when people get heated in a forum. For statistical reasons, my 93 lego auto was non EGR.
  3. Best help you can get is on the links found here on this thread. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=98684&highlight=timing+belt+marks
  4. Procedure included oil seals on cams and crank, water pump, stat, t-belt, lower idler pulley and sprocket. Should have done the oil pump while I was there. I learned the hard way not to move the cams excessively as your HLA's may bleed down and you will have a whole other chore on your hands as I do.
  5. Thanks so much for the links. They were paramount to getting my marks in time. She is running now but with some valve noise. HLA's may have bled down but still has that 2.2 get up. Once again thanks to the USMB for helping me get off the bus.
  6. And 84'. I'm sure in between as well but not too sure about after.
  7. Really my favorite gen for a wagon. I had the same year. Had the third eye. Loved it. It was brown, not the pretty blue you have. And nice pajama pants. Lol :
  8. Okay so I have a 93 Legacy L 2wd with a little less than 200K that just died while I was coasting around a corner and now will not turn over. It will crank and crank but nothing. It sounds like a different crank to me as well. Like now it sounds"flat" compared to the way it sounded before when it would crank. I have checked for fuel and it is being delivered. I checked all the plug wires and they are intact and secure. I have not checked for spark, but it seems that a bad coil pack or other would not just go out while it was firing, I dunno. I do however have the cam sprocket covers off and have inspected the timing belt. The belt is intact on both sides and taught. I can see the marks on the cam sprockets but I'm not sure how to check if it is in time. Can someone please let me know how I can check to see if it jumped time or have any other ideas?
  9. Thank you for the inspiration. I am dying to do a swap in my coupe.
  10. That is really good to know that it is a non interference motor. I was really discouraged. I would welcome any advice an USMB has to offer to improve my subies. So pm me about the timing belt pointers. I will be pulling out the seat and the carpet soon to get those windows working and hope I don't have to pull the door. A relay or contact would be nice to replace as opposed to fishing wire through door panels.</p> If it is an easy fix on the timing belt I would probably keep the Legacy. The body is beat to ************ but a member in McMinville has the same gen color and all that good stuff so I will see what I can do to make it look a little better.
  11. Hi everyone! I am brand new to the USMB and would like to say hi. My subie collection includes a POS 93 Legacy L 2wd. The body is all dented and the timing belt just recently kaput. (pretty sure) My favorite new vehicle is my 88' ea82 3 door coupe. She is gorgeous. Light blue, straight body 176k and of course still running like a champ. I only paid 500 doll hairs for her, but of course for a reason. She leaks oil(of course) and classic 3 door coupe, the windows don't work. But get this, the a/c still blows cold, no conversion. Good thing, the weather has been warming up here. If you're in the PNW you know what I'm talking about. I'm excited to get some post out and meet some like minded Subaru enthusiast. See you on the boards!
  12. Thank you so much EVERYONE. What a great contribution from everyone. I just joined. : ) I am the not as proud owner of a bent up beat body salvaged titled 92 legacy and now the a very proud owner of a ea82 spfi 3 door coupe. Guess what? Windows don't work. So with all your help I'm sure I will have it tackled in no time.
