hell, even uhaul has them, although overpriced.
advance auto has a decent yet affordable model...
there are plenty out there

on my xt6 I just replaced both front axles yesterday...
I took the two bottom strut mounting bolts out, and was able to do what was needed
is this different than an ea82?
taking out these two strut bolts was super easy

no belt covers for the win

I'm not going to say who....but someone in a white turbo wagon got chased down by 5 security people in golf carts and got their car kicked out for the evening....
that person is going to have to live with this one for awhile.
*cough NKX cough*
turbowagon caught by some rentacops in golf carts?
ya, not gonna live that one down

to clarify, it turns over but won't start?
definately check timing related stuff... something about a screw in the disty.. t-belts, tensioners, pulleys

Well, I went to put a new pulley on it, and found some bad news... the keyway on the crankshaft is damaged, as is the notch on the pulley. The new pulley wouldn't even fit on. I put the old pulley back on and tightened the bolt to 175ft-lb, and everything feels nice and tight... but it still wobbles.
So in a nutshell, there's no way to fix the wobble without replacing the crankshaft (or the engine).
As long as the pulley is on tight, what's the risk of running it with the wobble? Should it be OK? Or should I start getting ready for an engine swap?
I've put 5k miles on mine with the keyway in the crank and the pulley completely screwed...
I bought the highest quality lock-tite I could find, and torqued it down to 180lb-ft
I keep telling my girlfriend "any day now this thing is just going to let loose"
seems like the more I say it the longer it lasts

need lift for the legacy. would like to install at the same time as the new suspension.
need prices!!

yep. i cleaned off the intake really well and noticed it after a 15 mile trip. tightened it and it seems to leak less, but still coming out. not being familiar with block work im not sure the best way to go about it.
I am also not familiar with block work but it seems like you could take that one bolt out (what could it hurt ) and either teflon tape it, get a new bolt, or maybe even try sealing it with an o-ring? (if you wanna go ghetto, that is..)
-
so this is the reason for oil pooling on the block, I take it?

the car was in 1st though so it should have been locked in 50/50. my understanding was that an open rear diff would let the power follow the path of least resistance (aka the wheel in the loose dirt) i was under the impression though that it wouldn't all go to one tire. in a 4x4 truck, you'd have one wheel front and one wheel back spinning. is the awd gonna work differently?
as for the CB, just got it installed this past weekend (the night before the trip actually) still need to work on getting my swr's down in the upper channels but it works ok 1-20 for now.
I think what he was saying is that the tire that was in the air would have been the path of least resistance as compared to the tire in loose dirt??

rear hubs and backing plates.
need them to fix the brakes on a twin turbo Loyale.. ( I keep running out of brakes!)
ah... unfortunately I have almost nothing with regards to spare brake parts..
might want to hit up http://www.xt6.net/forum though

any luck on the XT6 bits?
what xt6 bits would those be?

Just plain scary.
Why?

we're all polishing turds...
turns out it has been 1 year and 9 days since I drove home with my new (to me) xt6 on a trailer in pennsylvania...
I paid $500 for the car, and a rediculous amount in gas for a truck and renting a trailer..
the car had bad transmission.
I pulled the tranny and installed one from a parts car I had.
I have about $2k into it total now and have driven it still less than a mile and a half in the 1 year and 9 days I have owned it.
it's a sickness.
<edit>
to be fair, this is a different situation, as yours was running crappy, and I just haven't really had time to work on mine

the tmic looks nice
-
hooray for progress!!
I'm feeling real good that I finally got my xt6 moving around too... only a few more things to button up.
got any recent pics of the rx?
-
no skid plates and bad approach/departure angles make me a little uneasy about just stomping it...
no worries mon
-
I got whiteline flat out steering rack bushings for an impreza that fit my xt6... seem to be good quality
-
first one didn't work for me, but in the second one you got owned by being too easy on the skinny pedal!!

Problem with this is he may not know what to look for...
Search for 5-lug swap. It usually entails using parts from an XT6 to obtain the 5lug bolt pattern. Good luck!
(btw, why are we always so quick to say use the search function? Can't we give some details about what to do, then tell them to search?)
that's fine but when I posted that there was a post like 3 posts down from this having to do with a 5lug swap, and the original poster knows it's going to switch from 4lug to 5lug..................................
what more can I say

looks sweet. but if the paint scuffed off during install how is it going to hold up on the trail?
i was considering building some bumpers... but my idea for a coating is this rubberizing stuff that can be brushed on to metal. once it dries, it forms a layer of rubber that would keep moisture out and probably be pretty decent for protection.
they paint wasn't completely cured or whatever... he painted it yesterday and it said it would be like 7 days for it to be completely cured

there are lots of threads about this particular topic, even in this forum (retrofitting)
use the search function and look around, you will find what you are looking for
