Chip Hedrick, the way you described the Phase II intake it sounds like a better flow of air. Is it possible to put that one on a Phase I engine? My car is sluggish, probably cause of the auto tranny, and would like all the help it can get. Also it seems the scoop on the Outback hood is useless, is there a way to incorporate that into the air intake?

Whenever I am doing about 35-50 and apply the brake it shakes up front. I have heard this is a regular problem with Outbacks, but I'm not sure. Thanks for any info.

I'm debating whether to keep mine and lift it or get a 2005 Outback XT. It is already 1.5" taller than the 99 and it's a turbo Will light truck tires work in the 99 OBW without too many problems? I'm not sure how to figure out what size they would need to be from a 205/70/15. I think it would be a 29"x8.5", is that correct?

I bought mine about 3 weeks ago and love it! It has the 2.5L and I have not heard any odd noises coming from under the hood or wind noise, even cruising at 75-80 mph. Very smooth and quiet car. Even going through big fun mud puddles, ditches, ruts and other fun stuff it has no problems. The only 2 things I don't like are the suggish automatic and under heavy acceleration it burns a bit of oil, but not so much I am worried.

Is it a constant squeak or a rhythmatic squeak?

Hi all. I just traded in my 01 Sentra SE for a 99 Outback and boy am I happy! It's only been 2 weeks with it and I love it! Well, since I'm the new one here looks like I owe everyone some coffee.
