  1. On th point of lookin @#$%#@ up. I did. Searched for around five hours and found zero usefull info, (atleast as far as my small brain goes) this is my first Ru but one of many wheelin rigs and I just wanted to do it right and not be some Redneck horror story that dies on the highway because I did it wrong. I thought the whole idea behind a site like this was to ask and be answered. Thank you to everyone who has helped me find my way I have built my own SJR style lift (I work restoring classics and hotrods) and I hope to show up to an event soon.
  2. Hi I hear your the man for lifts. I am lookin for a 3 or 4 inch for my 83 wagon. I live in Yakima so I can pick it up or maybe even help make it, if you would send a price my way I would like to get this in the works as I would like to have it on by Memorial day. Thank again Dan.

  3. Ok I read the lift FAQ and I have fabed all the parts that the SJR lift has, not a pretty but still functional. Anyone wanna mail me a Caliper?
  4. Ok I have been told that a body lift for my 83 gl wagon would be a bad Idea? If there is anyone who can tell me why or link me to where I can find tyhis info I would appreciate that, also if one could tell me how I can lift my rig I would be very thankfull.
  5. I need the sizes for the body bolts... the ones that hold the rear diff. mount, the next set up that holds the rear end and for the torsion/sway? bar mount behind the front wheels. Basicaly the ones I need to replace when I do a body lift. I can get the length estimate on my own, I am hopeing that someone will have thread patterns and such.
  6. does anyone know the thread size and bolt diameter for the body bolts on a gl wagon (83). I can estimate length I just can't drive to the parts store with the damn things out. Any help would be great. Thanks.
  7. I am about to put a 1 1/2 inch block lift on as a practice for when I do a larger lift, and I was wondering at what point do I have to extend steering and brakes etc. and how far for a 4 inch wich will be the final size of the lift. My rig is a 1983 gl wag. dr.
  8. I need to know what size, length width ect. I need to put in a 1 1/2 inch body lift on my 83 wagon. Any input would be appreciated cause I gotta have the bolts in to drive to the frigin parts store so I can't take em in to compare. Thanks in advance guys.
  9. Hi saw you are in the yak area and heard you are a builder of parts so to speak. I have an 83 wagon that I would like to do a small lift on. If you could send me back some info I'd appreciate that. And btw what trail systems are you partial to around here?

  10. ok so it was two of the tires had seperated. had to put some street tires on the front and smoothed her right out. thanks for all the help once again, and I hope I can help in the future.
  11. Oh, and changed from 165/80/r13 to 27x8.5 14 very odl used tires off of a trooper I found in the junk yard. all tires hold air and fling mud so I hope its not them.
  12. I was under the beast and noticed that the bushings that hold the transfer/trany are shot and I can move the whole setup about an inch and a half. Gonna replace those and see.
  13. Swaped tires front to back and it got worse. Gonna do balance and bolt check today, thanks for the input guys.
  14. I just drilled out a set of 6 lug 14 inch rims that I drilled out to fit on my 83 wagon. Looks great and performs awsome offroad, but I have an extreme wobble in the front end. My question in how to adjust the Camber? I hope thats the right word(the angle of the wheel). If anyone who has done this conversion and dealt with this prob. please fill me in on the fix please.
  15. I think that the 6 lug conversion will be the way I go just trying to do it cheap and quick.
  16. Ok here is maybe a dumb question.... can I use a set of the 4x140mm 15 inch stock spare rims and have other tires monted to them? Once again sorry am new to the world of swamp rats. Thanks for your help in advance.
  17. Hi I am wondering how I would change my 83 wagon from the 4x140 lug set to a 5 lug set anybody got the know how?
