  1. I think thats what I am going to have to do. My hoses will have to be changed with the lift anyways.
  2. Noticed a coloration between Subaru and VW lovers here. I happen to love both. I however am into the water wagens.
  3. Non lifted with SJR's adapter I was at just around $1100. I have yet to do Tbelt and seals / gaskets. Got a complete donor for $200 with 200K and my wagon for 300 non running.
  4. Sent Scott a check for my lift today (b-day cash well spent)
  5. I'll keep that in mind I have a 12" fan on the drivers side (cold side) of the radiator now, and have a 10" that I just got to install as well. Both will pull. Guess I'll see what that does for it. Not sure how old the EA radiator is so maybe I will look for a stock replacement instead of trying to get the EJ one in there.
  6. Okay, I will stick with the OE t-stat and just add another fan to the radiator and see where that gets me. As for a worn water pump, do they loose performance or just start leaking?
  7. Do you have a source or part # on the lowtemp t-stat? I used an OEM one from the Dealer. I want to be able to crawl up-hill for extended periods at low speeds. Also does anyone know if a worn waterpump will provide less pressure at low RPM?
  8. Couple questions. Is the eBay water pump / timing kit worth getting? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUBARU-LEGACY-IMPREZA-OEM-GRADE-TIMING-WATER-PUMP-EJ22-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem255ad9d71eQQitemZ160438015774QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories The other question is, has anyone managed fit a legacy radiator into their EA? I feel that my cooling is inadequate with the stock EA radiator which is why I am also looking at a water pump.
  9. I used 91 LEG seats in my 88 with the EA rails. Seems to sit just a little higher, but not enough to really piss me off.
  10. These are the Hankooks, price is a determining factor. Good eye on the Nascar logo, they must have an offroad division now .
  11. Hey! I was thinking about going with the General Grabbers too. They seem to be about the cheapest AT tire around. How they working for you?
  12. Again, this was while slowly turning the wheel by hand while the other was on the ground. I will double check my wires though. Any recommended tire size? I would hate to lose my pole climbing ability, but want to get a little more clearance and nasty traction after the lift gets installed. I was looking at the Dunlop Mud Rovers.
  13. So finally got around to hooking up the tach and VSS. Tach was cake, but the signal from the VSS I am pulling from the connector that went to the old ecu at pin 22 Y/G wire is fluctuating between .02 and 0 V when I have one wheel off the ground and turn it by hand. This does not seem right to me............
  14. Got a cheap glasspack and muffler at the auto parts store. Went with 1-7/8" over the EJ y pipe into the glasspack at 2" then over the beam into the muffler. Sounds just right, and its easier to drive when you can understand what the engine is saying cause its not shouting
  15. Did mine today! Used stock EJ y pipe with 1-7/8 over that into a cheap glasspack then over the beam into a cheap muffler. I started with just the muffler but it was way too loud.
  16. Got a proper exhaust welded up today then did a little offroading. Low range is a blast in this thing. I was blown away at how this thing can just creep up what ever and then cruise down the interstate at 80mph after that. 250 trouble free miles today
  17. Normally I would not mix grounds because I know better, but even if I have continuity across all the negatives without speakers connected, you feel this can still be an issue? Also to clarify, my sound levels are not poor and I just verified the fade/balance are working.
  18. I left the grounds for the rear speakers just hanging off the HU. I used my multimeter and got continuity through all the speaker grounds on the HU to the case so I was not worried. So far I have not been let down, but I did not have high expectations. I was just looking for a basic replacement for the AM/FM stock radio. I would like it better if it would display more than just a track number and folder number. And yes, there is no dimmer. I am using the SD card with MP3s on it.
  19. This thing is no high end stereo but it was much better than what I had, and at $39.99 how can you go wrong. It sounds okay with the stock speakers. The screw holes on the sides allowed it to be mounted in the stock brackets. It seems to have the exact same dimensions as the stock radio. I cut the harness off of the stock radio to use for splicing onto. The wire colors were different but you can reference to the wire colors on the back of the dash harness. I also had to file a small bit off of the sides of the bezel to fit around the new HU. Found this at WallyWorld. Here is the color chart I used: Memory (+12v Constant) Red/Green Ignition (+12v Switched) Blue/Yellow Ground (-) Black Illumination Dimmer Power Antenna Red/White Left Front Speaker (+) Yellow Left Front Speaker (-) Blue/Red Right Front Speaker (+) White Right Front Speaker (-) Blue/Black Left Rear Speaker (+) Yellow/White Left Rear Speaker (-) Blue/Red Right Rear Speaker (+) White/Blue Right Rear Speaker (-) Blue/Black http://www.dualav.com/mobileaudio/xr4110.php
  20. Put over 100 miles on this car without any major problems. Changed motor and trans oil and installed the Legacy seats this weekend. Had to do a ball joint and clean the nastiness from the P.O. Still needs a permanent exhaust and some wires hooked up. Overall I'm happy with the results.
  21. Manners are key Still not sure how fun it is. Exhaust is not done and I need to get some interior stuff done. Should be a hoot though.....
  22. The guy that pulled me over was really nice. He let me off on the registration, insurance, seat belt, missing hood, drivers license, broken windshield and probably something else I'm missing........ quite the scene.
