  1. Nope. My Dad's friend purchased a Brat and took the canopy off of it and was going to get rid of it so my Dad snagged it for me. My Brat has a roll bar so the canopy doesn't work for me plus I can't put my motorcycle in it either. :)

  2. Cool. The canopy isn't at my house. It is at my parents in Seabeck, Wa about 20 minutes for where I am. Hence the heads up. I have to let the people know ahead of time as courtesy.

  3. Just give a couple of days heads up so I can coordinate. Where r u coming from?

  4. So I acquired a 4-11 5 speed and I have the older transmission case to put the guts in. Now I have never even cracked a case before and needed some advice from my Subie brothers. How hard is it and does the back lash and all that need to be adjusted too? I am clueless about this and any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
  5. The reason for turning the t-housing around is because with PS, you run right into the belts, but if you don't have PS, you probably don't have to swap that out.
  6. Hey everyone. Does anyone out there have a 91- 94 legacy turbo sedan, awd, 5 speed? If you do, could you be so kind as to copy that number off your trans and tell me what it is? I don't have the trans, which means no #. Thanks guys.
  7. I wasn't doing a SPFI swap. I broke a bolt and then the extractor in the intake so I got another intake and to my surprise GD told me that an Ea 82 has better flow and will bolt up. So the mods are to get it to work. But I am sure the SPFI would work and open up more room on the other side of engine.
  8. Here is some pics of the mod job I had to do. It's an Ea 82 manifold. I had to grind a sliver off the alt bracket, and a pretty good chuck out of the Ea 81 PS bracket. I put power steering in my Brat from an 84 turbo coupe. If u use the t-stat housing from the Ea 81, it is much taller that allows you to shoot it backwards and then u make a smooth transition back to the radiator. I know how you guys like the pics, like me, so here you go.
  9. What is the tranny? I am looking for a 5 speed to bolt to a 2.2T.

  10. Could you put the rack from the 93 and use the tie rods for the Brat? Would it be the right width then?
  11. I was noticing the power rack and pinion is way smoother in Ea 82 cars, so was wondering if you could swap racks?? I was thinking of putting the Legacy, 93, rack in the Brat. I already have the whole car so was wondering if any knew????
  12. Well renob123, thanks for nothing except for clearing up that "imperative sentence". As for Caboo, thanks for the info.
  13. Explain all the different EJ heads and what would be the better head for 2.2T.
  14. What Subaru manual transmissions will bolt right up to the EJ 2.2T? Basically, what are my options for a good manual behind the 2.2T?
  15. On your brake pads you have a squealer. Check that. Jack the car up and turn the wheels and spin them and see if you can pin point.
  16. Well you can see from the pics I got the axle off but I just got the rest of the pin out the other day. Someone had taken a solid axle pin and thought they could drive out a hollow pin. But the solid pin drove into the hollow one. It was a nightmare. I sure hope I don't have to do that again.
  17. So I just pulled the EA 81 out of my Brat and put it in my Rx so I have something to drive. I have a D/R 5 speed that I picked up about a month ago but now I am wondering if I should just put in an Awd 5 speed. I am not sure which one would be better. I want to make the Brat a nice daily driver that I may take down some dirt roads but nothing really rough. So, which is the better tranny??????
  18. Well come to find out it wasn't the starter binding. Someone, I won't mention names, told me to take the EA 81 flywheel and change the step to the EA 82. But once in, the starter was rubbing horribly on the flywheel. So I pulled the moter again and compared the EA 82T flywheel and there was a big difference. So F.Y.I, if you decide to swap motors, make sure you have the correct flywheel for the engine.
  19. So I found out that I had no power to the coil while cranking so she starts no problem but for some reason the starter is binding even after the engine is running. I changed the step to the EA 82 flywheel specs and I don't understand what is going on. The starter only goes in one way without any adjustment. I even put the starter in from my brat thinking it was the starter and it did the same thing. Does anybody have any ideas??????????
  20. Can anyone tell me what wires go where in this unit. I asked GD but I have not heard back from him and I need to know asap. I have one person saying one thing and another saying something else. I just need confirmation. So, Brat owners, come to my rescue please. Thanks guys for your help.
  21. No I have the pin driver. I bought this D/R 5 speed for my Brat upgrade. That is how I got the tranny and man what a pain in the rear..... But I thought the guys would like the pics though.
  22. It is mounted just above my distributor in my 85 Brat. It is the square thing in the pic. It looks like a relay but I was thinking it was my external resistor for my dist.
  23. This is what happens when an idiot uses something other than a right punch to remove the pin. It gets stuck and you have a nightmare to deal with.
  24. Do you have any sun visors?????
