  1. Cool Thx. Right now I sent an email to a company and thats all they make is suspension parts so I will let everyone know once I get it.
  2. I bought my first Subie because my Ford Ranger's clutch was going out, it then snowed 28" and the Subie kicked butt. Oh, it was an 85 Gl wagon with low range, wouldn't go without low range because the snow was so deep, but I was seriously impressed. I was the one taking everyone to work. I sold the Ranger and never looked back. Now my whole family drives Subaru's. I love them. I have a Brat and an Rx and my wife drives the Impreza 2.5i, my parents have an new outback and so does my sister. My neighbors even bought them once they saw how I can get around in the snow. Like I said, I love them.
  3. Yep, I had mine reground and it was pretty inexpensive. But most machine shops can do it, especially if they deal with imports.
  4. Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you know where to get replacement bushings for the rear diff support that bolts right to the rear diff? It's the big bushings that the bar bolts to the car. I have a Brat and an Rx that need new ones?
  5. I had the same thing happen to me in my 80 Brat. Thought the transmission went out. Took it to a tranny shop, the first thing the guy did was jack up the front end so both tires were off the ground, and held the cv axle with one hand and spun the tire. The tire spun but the axle didn't. Broken cv. Another time, my friend's axle nut loosened up enough that it stripped all the splines on the hub. Got a new hub and it worked fine.
  6. type in; Weber DGV DGAV DGEV Float leveling Instructions. That is the video.
  7. Look online for the weber adjustment. I found a weber tech video of an older guy, obviously been there a while, show you exactly how to measure with the carb. Awesome video on utube. It helped me to make sure I had my adjusted right, especially being that it is coming right from weber company.
  8. I have a 85 Brat with a 2.2T and I have an Sti 5 speed in an older outback case. With my whole set-up I had to have a custom driveline made which was only $150. I believe the newer trannys are shorter than the stock ea tranny, hence the custom driveline and I had to make a custom bracket for the tranny to mount to the ea body. Hope this helps.
  9. So some info you for guys; I mentioned welding up the hub and redrilling..... Well I talked to a machinist and D.O.T. say no welding on hubs. You can redrill if material is sufficient but no welding. So, it looks I will be doing the hub redrill to 6 lug. I was just trying to stay all Subaru so all my wheels and tire combos fit all my rigs. Now I will have a 6 lug black sheep. Ha Ha
  10. I thought the same thing Numbchux, that there wasn't enough material but the machinist said that it was plenty. As a matter of fact he had been doing what I was asking years ago to his rigs, changing out lug pattern and re-drilling. I thought you needed to weld up the old holes for strength and then drill the new hole in the area that you welded but he explained it wasn't necessary. There is enough material for the strength and for the purpose of keeping the wheel centered on the hub. I am really tempted to find some extra hubs and test this out because I would like to be able to swap to 5x100 without having to find all these other parts. Oh by the way ferp420, nice subaru. See that is what I am going for, maybe not 17's but it is nice to see that the subie even looks great with 17's. Nice job.
  11. I'm just wondering, why cant you knock out all the lugs of the 4 x140 and then see what lug is in the way of the 5x100 to fit and weld it up and machine it flat to be able to drill to the pattern you need? I asked a machinist and he said there is plenty of material to be strong and to fit properly. Then you don't have to change any of the running gear.
  12. Thx for the info I am looking into it. I will let you know what happens.
  13. Hey guys need some help. I have an 88 Rx and I am going through the car and the front blinker/ running light has the light that does a quarter turn backwards and it slides right out. Well mine have broken away to nothing. Does anyone have to sell or know where I can get some replacements?
  14. Got it. Thanks tombba; found the back up lights. So on your pass. side, rear 6 pin plug, on mine it was the green wire w/ two brown dots.
  15. Just about any GL with the carb that has been taken care always seems to run well. My stock Brat was soo reliable but I wanted more power. I love the older subies but they need the horsepower that the ej's put out stock and they would be perfect, other that ground clearance but that can be fixed too. I have a weber on an ea 81 that I have in my 88 Rx. 86 Brat motor with the weber and she runs really smooth and I just recently found a mystery vacuum leak that I fixed and she runs better than ever. I am still tweaked the carb settings but super easy to adjust and change, and this was my first carb tuning.
  16. If you have some metric taps you could match it to know for sure. Otherwise, take it off and go to the parts store and match it.
  17. There are no lights. The whole back of the car was rusted, lights gone. So I only have the plugs. Get me.
  18. So I have all the plugs in the back hatch section, stock harness. I am wiring in new back up lights and was wondering if anyone knew which wire was the back-up lights for our coupes?? Thanks
  19. Getting ready to test fire, doing some double checks. On 16 pin B56 connector, terminal 10 says red/yellow and blue/red,goes to Ign sw,-P-N. Off my 16 pin conn, it jumps up a wire size, still red/yellow with the end having a female spade connector. Does that go to the starter? Plus what do I do with the blue/red wire??
  20. That was my whole issue with doing the swap. I wanted to do it but I didn't like the fact that every time I need to replace an axle I would have to make it or have it made. So I decided to put the whole ej front clip onto my Brat. The ej engine just dropped in like it was supposed to and then you can run regular ej axles with the tranny met for it. Plus it makes the Brat AWD. I have an Sti 5 speed in an older outback clutch cable case.
  21. Here is one of the brackets I made to allow for the Ej suspension to bolt right up. Once the Ej suspension is in, it widens the Brat by 40mm on each side. So I had some 5x100 adapters made that gave me just that.
