  1. If I can squeeze some time out of my busy life I could do it for you. As long as you don't need to much other than pictures and information updates. I already spend 8 hours a day on the computer + 8 hours a day working. Hmm hell whats another hou or two more on the computer I really didn't need to sleep that much any ways.
  2. Well I've been kind of stalling on putting a more powerful engine in my 79 brat. It just runs fine as is it. But I was looking on ebay for subaru motors and came across a nice STI 555 Version 2 engine. About 275 hp would be nice (the second and third digit on that number is already more than the stock horse power of my brat), and if it won't fit in there I'll just put it in my 87 GL. Thats of course if I want to buy this engine (more like if I can afford this engine ). Heres the ebay link. I think its a nice engine a bit pricey for me. But hell if I can't pay my rent I can always live in my car. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33615&item=7929208978&rd=1
  3. I was just looking through my stuff when I just happened but some strange unknown reason decided to go through my old stuff I "got " (took from my dads room. This stuff is all older than me). When I happened by pure "chance" to look at a 1980 penthouse mag that I aquired from my dads collection. It has an ad for a Hatchback. I didn't know there was a subaru hatchback back then. The more I look at it the more older honda hatchbacks look like the subaru's. ***** and the price was only $4,799. I like the slogan at the bottom, "Inexpensive. And built to stay that way". I'm gonna have to get me one!
  4. (6) a professional football player who has fallen from grace and should have retired awhile back.
  5. My gl did that when I fist got it. All you need to do is clean the battery terminals and tighten them. or there is the "slim chance" its something else maybe a bad altinator, or starter connection.
  6. I don't do much writing on this forum * I'm usally on the older generation board. But I was just looking around and saw this. Well hows this about 750,000+ on a 1979 brat. *engine has been rebuilt twice, once by me* Was orignial owned by my dad who sold it to sold guy in arizona. I moved back there in arizona found the guy and bought it back from him for 200 dollars and got the spare parts brat too. My dad and the guy Jon kept records of everything they did. I've put 12,000 on it this year alone. I'm hoping to keep it till it reaches 1 million miles! (hmm how far is it to the moon?)
  7. Well They can't claim it now. I'm just waiting for the papers saying I have ownership of it. *I also know who abandoned it and they left the country, I don't think there coming back well at least not this state*
  8. I couldn't agree with you more. I just got back from a trip to Washington a few days ago. While I was there I swear I saw more subbie there then anywhere else I've been. Hell the people I was visiting on my vacation had 2 brats sitting in there back yard. I wanted to see how much they wanted for them but then I realized that I was taking a flight back home and couldn't take one with me
  9. Well I finally got ownership of it and it ownly cost me a 10 dollar processing fee. For those that don't know some abandoned a subbie on my property while I was gone on vacation in Washington. When I got back I checked with the M.V.D. at they gave me a paper to fax to some director to have it inspected and another paper to send to the Abandon Vehicle Department after a ten day wait period and a 10 dollar processing fee. I'm waiting to hear from the MVD in Pheonix, but I'm sure that I got it. After that is registration and insurance, and a few repairs and I'm ready for some fun with it. One of the problems I've since with it is that it's leaking water from somewhere. I think it might be a freeze plug but i'll check back with you all later on that.
  10. I didn't buy it. The people that owned it asked if I could hold it untill they came back for it. They have since left the country and are not coming back for it. They left me the keys. but didn't leave the title or registration. The tags have expired back in April. Once I get back to Arizona *currently still on vacation in Washington* I'm going to file an abondon vechicle report and file for transfer of ownership. The cost I've already stated in an earlier post on this thread. So for less than 100 bucks I get a running subbie. The only problem with it that I can tell is that it overheats easily (water is leaking from somewhere, checked before I left its coming out from underside of the engine)
  11. DAMN! After 5 hours of searching online I found out that I can, and that it won't cost me anything to get a transfer of ownership (it's gonna cost the person that abandoned it 50 dollars which I'll be glad to pay for them). Then 4 dollars for a title, 8 dollars for registration, plus some *cough* taxes . It comes to about 25 -30 dollars to make it mine plus about 30-35 days to make sure it's not stolen *which I already know it's not* Then about $219 dollars for 6 months insurance. All that for a subaru which i think is leaking water from some where, burns oils, and makes a werid noise when turning. But hell It runs!
  12. Well ABout 2 1/2+ months ago a few of my "rainbow hippy" neighbors asked if they could leave their subbie on my property so they could go to a "Rainbow Gathering"??? Since I have an affinity for subaru's I said sure. Knowing that if they took it cross country in the condidtion its in it would never leave the "Gathering". Any ways I have since come to hear through e-mail that they have left the Country. I wish to keep the vehicle since they are not coming back for it. It has no Title as far as I know, No Registration, and the tags expired in April. But I have the keys. Is there a way to file for an abandon vehicle title or something. I live in Arizona if that helps. Thanks for any input on this, 1979BratOwner P.S. It runs and I have the keys
  13. To whom, and what address did you send your letter I would like to send one myself. I'm sure if they got enough letters they would more likely consider it. Of course they are in business to make a profit so they would have to be alot of people writing letters explaining a consumer demand for the parts.
  14. Hmm I'm not sure what year it is. I'm gonna e-mail the guy whos selling it and get the VIN and check to see what year it realy is. Any ways the bid is still at 1 dollar. I think i'll be fair to the seller and bid some thing higher than someone who bid just 1 dollar. That would be the worst thing for someone to do to that seller considering he would be losing money selling it on ebay. Then with the money I have left over I'l get the other 360 on the board and have 5 subbies.* My God 5 subaru's.* I need a bigger garage
