  1. the thread was talking about switching from using lucas gas treatment to 2 stroke marine oil. Its cheaper then the lucas and they said it works the same.
  2. anyone know where to get the headlight covers?
  3. yea there was a 50 some page thread on another web site i was reading. They were making it sound amazing, better running car better mpg cleaner entire system from fuel tank to cylinder walls.
  4. Was just reading about people putting two stroke oil in the gas for their car ( 1 oz per 5 gallons) and was wondering if anyone here has done it or know someone that does? And what are your thoughts on it..
  5. just seems as if the motors have a stop like the ones in the back. If I use the front driver auto switch it stops in the same spot as the passenger side. Its possible the car has some electric issues, the battery was dead this morning so not sure yet but just seems weird that they stop just like the rear, even on a slight angle.
  6. the rear driver side doesn't go down the rear passanger works fine, both front go down as if they are back windows (little more then half way) I have 4 good doors off the 92 but they are different color cars....and the 94 is straight
  7. alright thanks! and how easy is it to switch the interior pannels off the 92 and put them in the 94? will also want to do the window motors since the windows in the 94 suck.
  8. alright he told me it was "knocking" but when i picked up the car it was very quiet (new exhaust) he was surprised how quiet it was running. After 125 miles yesterday it started to tap. Has a new water pump so i guess i could do the oil pump since it seems they did good regular matinance to it judging by the reciepts. Oil is very clean looks like he did it yesterday, but also looks like possibly he put a half quart of oil too much..
  9. Bought a 94 loyale yesterday, the one that was on ebay last week. First question is why does the dash not have a volt meter and oil pressure? I liked those on the 92. Someone at some point traveled with a dog and it scratched the corners of the panels on the doors, could replace them with the ones from the 92? And the front windows only go down as far as the back windows, almost as if someone put rear motors in the front? Would just changing the motors out solve that? And it sometimes has the TOD, any suggestions for that? ( turning the distributor, using something in the oil)
  10. ok nevermind took another break from work and got it figured out guess the one side of the bumper is pushed up quarter inch maybe the screws on one side didn't line up but the other side was fine
  11. So i got a pair of new taillights and was trying to replace them got the one side off and they are identicle lights but i cant get the new one on and the old one lines up the same. Is there a trick to getting them on? Seems like the small plastic lip on the bottom is keeping the light from going thru the holes. Any suggestions? thanks looks like rain soon
  12. where is the actuator? think the shop that i took the car to for the timing belts grabed my chilton that was in the back seat. need to call and get it back..
  13. the 4wd definatly isn't working! I checked all the lines going to the actuator and the fuse and it all seemed fine. Where else should I check. The button on the shifter seems to stick when i push it down. could that be a culprit? and how should i clean under the button electric cleaner and just spray it down the sides of the crack? supposed to be getting some snow soon and would like to have it working
  14. great idea! the heater only works on heat, it doesn't switch from heat to bilev or defrost. so i guess it is possible that there is a vacuum leak somewhere but Im not possitive. thanks for that suggestion!
  15. I'm definatly not expecting it to be like a wrx but at least maybe seem like what I imagine from a subaru lol. I like the jack idea tho thanks.
  16. I know this is a stupid question but I was wondering what the best way to check my 4WD is.. The car is a 92 loyale single range. The light doesn't come on on the dash but I used to think I could hear the vacuum actuator working. Last nite in less then an inch of snow I was spinning tires the whole way up this hill and the tires on the car are like new. My friend has a wrx and that is amazing in the snow! I just don't feel like mine acts the same way. Any easy to check to make sure it working? Thanks
  17. check on amazon.com they have a few for jeeps and they are around 25 thinking about getting one for myself..
  18. Starting to think that leaving the Tbelt covers off might not be the best bet for me... First nite driving in the snow and only about 5 inches with bigger drifts but the car went into a drift and stalled. When I tried starting it again it was real slow at turning and wouldn't bump start. Had it towed to the garage and they said both timing belts had jumped.. :-\ any ideas what a normal garage should charge to do a tbelt job?? thanks
  19. went to the hardware store right after work and picked up a $.90 wing nut and put it on the negative terminal of the coil and it seems to be working.
  20. So the car is running now again, but it just seems to run when it wants and doesn't when it doesn't. I'm off tomorrow and going to really look at the coil and maybe replace the cap and rotor. noticed the negative terminal on the coil doesn't have a nut holding the wires tight. what size is the nut?? found one that looked the right size but wouldn't fit. maybe the last person cross threaded it and thats y there isn't one on there now? idk. but put some tape on it as a temporary solution to see if it helps untill i can make it to the store. I'm hopeing the loose cable on the coil is the problem but it never had a nut on the terminal and never acted up before...
  21. another thing i was thinking was possibly the o2 sensor but it sounds like the car can run without an o2 even being hooked up.?
  22. So it wasn't just a dirty MAF sensor, but I still don't know whats wrong with the car. Started a few times fine after that then as I was driving I could feel it stumble a little bit just one stumble at a time and it did it maybe 3 times. Got to where I was going shut the car off went to start it again and it did for a second and died right out. Just turns over but won't start; when it does run it runs fine and you would never know its hard to get started. No idea what the problem is. Thinking maybe the coil, or ignition switch? Would the ignition switch cause it to stop running once its started?? Bout to have it towed to a garage soon. But don't wanna spend so much on something I feel should be a simple fix.
