Then just add 2" of pip weld to strut and weld eye back on? What bout weldin on the strut it doesnt heat up the gas inside??? Thanks guys. Im heading to the shop now to paint the wheels and figure out how the rear is goin. I will take pics of everything just dont know how to post. I got the front lift made and painted. 9. I know this wont happen cuz of all the regulations and cost. But man it would be nice to have. I would love to put one of the new EE20 diesel motors in my brat. What about using ea82 axles? Arnt they just a little bit longer and that would makeup for alittle bit. Cuz I have a complete set all 4 from the loyale I got the 5sp d/r from. Thanks Clay

I was thinkin bout something. What bout doin a small 2" lowering of the subframes and doin the 4" strut drop on the front. You'll get the 4" lift but keeping the subframe alittle higher for better ground clearance. It would be just like doin the 2" lift but you'll be lifted 4". What do you think subi gang?
  12. Remember subis are the frame. They just use sub frames for the engine and front suspension and a sub frame for the rear suspension. Keeps us updated love seein new projects come alive. Myself, I am doin my 84 turbo brat but as more of a DD offroad wheeler. I already did the street build. With my 07 wrx into a fully built sti plus, Alot money when your doin the newer stuff. Thats why Im excited about this brat build. Have fun and enjoy working on one of the best makes out there GO SUBI
  13. Thanks Jerry for all your help. I mite just get one of those crossmembers off of you. Pm me what your asking for one. Thanks again
  14. Ok Thanks Jerry. I will difly call you tomorrow. Im goin to be swaping ea82 motors in my girls loyale. But I will try and call you in between.
  15. Well I had a custom clutch made for my brat swap. I only had a 4sp d/r so I had some kevlar put on my clutch and resurfaced cuz I didnt have the 5sp d/r parts car to go with. Well just today we got a 88 with 5sp d/r. So now I have a built clutch for the 4sp but I wanta do the 5sp cuz everyone says that its alot better. So can someone tell me exactly what I need to do. Which flywheel do I need. The 4sp or the 5sp. Cuz I know they are offset differently. Cuz If I have everything I need from my parts car I will just do the 5sp swap instead. I do know Ill have to find a way to get the center carrier mount on my brat. Thanks for all your help. Subi gang

thanks. I found a set of 205/75/14 snow tires. They can work till next summer. Lol bout fender fittin. I was thinkin the same think. I really wanta squeze some 27" but ill just have to wait.
  19. Dont mean to hijack. But its kinda on the same subject. Im installing a 4spd d/r into my turbo brat. Can I make it lite up on the dash 4low and 4hi?
  20. Thanks GD. Just a little update on brat project. I will be installing the tranny next week. I am having a clutch made. It goin to have kevlar disc with stronger springs. I also had the flywheel and pressure plate resurfaced. Oh and I definitely get pics of new clutch. Ill just have to figure out how to post them on here. That should be done mid next week then I can install tranny. Im goin to try and make the lift blocks this weekend and get them installed. So I was hoping to maybe get GD out next weekend with his ecm and check my brat out so that I can get it runing and start driving it. Excited

thanks for the tip on liftin the back more by clockin the arms. I will try and make me some blocks this weekend so I can get it lifted next week. To clarify, I need to cut 1" at 15* each end out of 2x2x.25 tubesteel and drill 7/16 holes centerline. Then weld a 7/16 bolt to the top and install pushing the strut inwards towards the motor? Thanks everyone for all your help in my brat. Hopefully I can get GD to bring his ecm out next week and see if thats whats wrong and get it running so I can start driving it.

  25. I was wonderin if ne1 has done a na ea82 to a turbo ea82t. The car is a 91 loyale wit ea82 spfi. I was wantin to put a ea82t in it. I know the engin harness and ecm frm the ea82t go to be put in but wht bout the harness on the body side? Also is ther anything else I would need to change I think I read sumthin bout the cross member for the tranny cuz of the downpipe? Anything else. Thanks for all ur guys help. Thanks subi gang
