  1. I have a 85 GL that im working on. I also have a set of 88 front struts that arnt adjustable like the 85's. The question is are there any differences in height between the two. Like is the adjustable one all the way down the same height as the non or all the way up the same height or halfway the same??????? Thanks for your help subi gang. Clay
  2. If I take the front two plates out that drop the front part of the rearend. Then the driveshaft is nice and straight to the CB. That would probably help alot. Im goin to run it the way it is for a little bit and keep my eye on it. Thanks for the imput. Clay
  3. Yea I wasnt goin to be driving it down the hwy. I would only be pulling it. The only pavement that they will be seeing is goin from my moms place to the mountains. Thats only a couple miles of pavement and I wouldnt be goin that fast. Cuz it just in the country where she lives. I think that if a utv can run then my brat can run them. Im mainly goin to be on dirtroads, logging road and trails with mud and rocks.
  4. Welded up my rearend and painted it. Made 2 more 2" lift kits for the loyale. Will finish up tomorrow. Then I will post pics. Also going to pick up a 85 loyale tomorrow morning.
  5. Let me know what you find out speedwagon. Cuz if I keep my brat. Im goin to want to do the same thing. When I lift it, I want to use the front and rear subframes from the loyale parts car I parted out. Thanks Clay
  6. Here is a couple more I found. This one is utv only. So it should also be around the 1000lbs rating per tire. http://www.4atvtires.com/atvTires/showProduct.php?id=9712&cat_id=707 This one the same brand Maxxis with a little more open tread style. http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/productDetail.do?navTitle=Tires+and+Wheels&webCatId=8&navType=type&webTypeId=138&prodFamilyId=23155&listingId=&sizeAttr=7261 This link has more info but above link is cheaper. http://www.pureoffroad.com/maxxis_bighorn_2.0_atv_tires.htm
  7. I also found these. They are 8ply. Wow http://www.pureoffroad.com/gbc_dirt_commander_atv_tires.htm
  8. After I did the lift on my girls loyale. We broke a axle in the rear when the tire came off the ground. Did it twice so now I have lowered the rear diff 1.5". By the way I did a 2" lift in front and a 3" lift in rear. I made new holes for mustash bar and a couple plates for the front part of the rear diff. I probably could just run the new holes in mustash bar. It made the driveline straight again but I wasnt sure about the diff not being level. Heres some pics.
  9. If I get to keep my brat or if I build another subi. I was thinking about getting these tires. I will have 14" pugs. I was going to get the 26x9x14 or should I get the 26x11x14. They are 6ply and made out of the same stuff as truck tires. My project will not be drivein as a dd. I will drive a little bit on road but only to get to the dirt roads and mountains and not probably goin over 60mph. What do you guys think? They are Sedona Rip Saw RT http://www.atvtirestore.com/sedona_rip_saw_atv_tires.html
  10. I got a guy that has a 87 turbo gl-10 that has a auto in it. Can I put that one in my girls car. I know it has the mpfi and hers is spfi. It only has a button for hold1 he said. No center diff lock. But he did say it reads 1,2,3,D so thats the 4eat. How could I make it work electrically. I know Ill have to change front axles to the 25 spline count no biggi there. And Ill need the cross over braket and he has the driveline and shifter linkage. But what Im wondering is hookin it up to make it shift. Oh I know its 3.7 I have a rearend from my brat thats 3.7. But how is that goin to work with our 205/74/14 on it. It shruggles a little already but then I would be goin higher gears but it will have a 4sp. I also looking at buying a 97 obs with 2.2 auto and swaping everything over. But that money I need to come up with. I have but the gl-10 tranny right now. Thanks subi gang.
  11. Thats what I was wondering. If I could get access to the bearings that way or not. And if I could change them that way or not too?
  12. Thanks Dean. Sorry but im in Vancouver WA LOL I know its a bearing cuz I have been losing diff oil and the output shaft wiggles around. I guess im going to have to replace the tranny. It will probably just be cheaper that way.
  13. Ya the front diff bearings are bad i believe. It really suks too. I just did alot of work to it and got it goin good so she likes it and now this crap:banghead: So now I got to figure if its ez to swap bearings out or just find a tranny and swap them out. I can do a tranny swap no problem at all it ez and simple but I dont have an extra tranny.
  14. Last nite I was goin to replace on of the cv axles on the front of my girls loyale. I thought that was maybe why it was having shaking probs. I got the car up in the air and took off the ypipe and grabed the axle and it wiggled all over. Then I grab the other side where the axle is not broke or cut and it wiggles badly. I thought that the brokein axle boot lost all the grease and was maybe outta balance but no I come to find out that I believe the diff bearings are shot. Does anyone know how much is involved in change the bearings? Should I just look for a different tranny? Thanks for all your help subi gang
  15. Well LOL The reason I started this thread was. Cuz I found a tranny for a real low price. But no I realize I cant use it till I do a swap. So I passed on the tranny. I am goin to look for a complete legy or imprez with the 2.2, and if I get lucky and find one with a auto then all the more better. But also now. I was working on it last nite and found out why it was vibrating so much. The splines where the axles attach to tranny. The bearings are shot. I can grab the axle and wiggle it around. So now Im trying to figure out what to do. Its my girls daily driver.:-\
  16. Thanks. Im looking into just doing a ej22 swap into her car and keep the 3at unless I can get a great deal on a car with all of it in there. Engine, tranny, ecm, tcm wiring. Then I can just swap it all over. She kinda wants to keep the 3at cuz of the pushbutton. She likes having the 2wd then click shes got 4wd. LOL I was thinkin the 4eat cuz of the better gearing but I dont think shes ready for awd. She said if she has awd then she just wants a wrx LOL freakin girls LOL:drunk:
  17. I found a 4eat from a 04 imperza. I think its a 3.90 final drive tranny. I have been doing some research and I believe its has 25spline shaft on axles. So couldnt I just install turbo axles? The only problem Im having is thinking how with the tcm work for the tranny. Does anyone know how I could make this work? Thanks gang
  18. Does the loyales y pipe have a cat in it? I had one I took off of a car I was striping and I cut it up to cell the cat and make my own y pipe. But it didnt have a cat it was just open. Did someone gut that one or are all the ypipes just a collector not a cat? Thanks subi gang
  19. I feel like a dumb a$$. Yea its already a 3.9. Mod you can delete this thread.
  20. Thanks. I will. Im looking to find a 2.2 with a harness and ecm. I have to do my research cuz she wants to keep the 3at. I've got to figure out what I will need to make that work.
  21. Hi i need your advice subi guys. My girls loyale. I just did the lift and tires. She wants to keep your 3eat tranny cuz of the pushbutton 4wd. My question is I have a extra rear diff with 3.9. Can I take the 3.7 front diff out and put in a 3.9 front diff in its place? Like one out of a 5speed front diff? Does any one have a good front diff if I can do the swap. Thanks for the help
  22. Heres a better pic:grin:
  23. 2" Lift on the front and 3" lift on the rear with 205/75/14 on mazda 6lug redrilled
