  1. thanx for picking up that manifold and my old ecu and distrubitor. hope everything works out for your brat. see ya around.

  2. ok so here is my situation. my loyale has 193,000 miles on the car. it recently got an engine swap and a full treatment along the drivetrain, fluids, rear diff, etc. so i have the original suspension on the car shocks, struts, springs, ball joints, etc. so here is what happens. almost every time i go over a speed bump at costco or anywhere i get a lound clunking noise from my front end. its like a "clook Klack" noise. It mainly happens on speed bumps but i have heard it radomly while driving or doing some offroading. i am assuming that its probley just the ball joints that might be bad. but before i replace them i wanna see if anybody else has had this problem. I plan on replacing the stock springs with king springs and upgrading to kyb gr2's in the rear and monore shocks and struts in the front. its a 92 loyale 4wd wagon if that helps anybody.
  3. I think im gona go the six lug coversion. but if i dont ill denfinitly try. gona try to find some six lug steelies for a toyota
  4. What up PIMP!LOL see you around

  5. basically pwra101 your gona run the modified wiring harness that you get back from numchux through the firewall to the engine. the connections to the ecu wont change because ur using the wiring that came from the donor car and ecu. the plugs for the ecu wont change. your gona have to modifiy some wiring and hook up stuff alternit ways like oil pressure, etc. SO BASICALLY UR RUNNING DIFFRENT ENGINE CONTROL WIRING AND HAVING THE ECU RUN THE ENGINE. U WONT NEED UR OLD ECU!!! I would advise doing some in depth research or asking a wiring specialist or subaru mechanic. the xt6 clutch is the best you can do with an ea82 drive train, doesn't matter what size engine if your gona run ea 82 drive train the xt6 pressure plate has the highest clamping force for an ea82 drivetrain. and you can make an adapter plate and redrilled flywheel but if you mess up or ur holes on the flywheel and if you are off or if your adapter plate is any more or less than 1/2 thick or not perfectly flat ur project is gona probley ************ up! its a delicate and percise process. there is a right and wrong way to do it and trust me i put a few bucks into mine so unless ur willing to lose money do it the right way!!!
  6. THANX LOYALE90. i live in the county twords ferndale more but i work in bellingham on the guide meridian. i would be interested in seeing your lifted loyale. maybe we could meet up and check out the whips. hit me up if ur intested always willing to check out new builds.
  7. my plan so far is to put king springs in replacement of the stock loyale ones. they are about 500.00 for the springs at PRIMITIVE RACING IN OREGEON. and i think im gona do 4wd kyb's in the rear and moroe 4wd front shock and strut absorbers in the front. that should give me a better ride and replace the worn out shocks and struts. gonna be sweet. thanx guys for your help. anymore suggestions would be great
  8. Gloyale is right a used 2.2 or even 2.5 with wiring and ecu is gona cost you a pretty penny about 400.00 on the cheap side to a 1000,00 bucks or more depending on what you need. my clutch kit was 250.00 from parts train and it didn't come with throwout bearing clips, there 4 bucks a piece but you have to get them from the dealership. Then you have the ea to ej adapter plate thats 400.00 plus tax from scott at sjr lift etc, etc. trust me your gona put a few bucks into it just to mate the engine and get it running. i would get a car that runs like Gloyale said and use that as a donor so you know you have everything you need as far as wiring sensors, etc off the donor car. i bought pretty much everything brand new so my ************s legit. good luck.
  9. ok i have a 1992 subaru loyale and it has the ej swap. i plan on lifting it 4 inches with a body lift but before i do that i want to see what my options are for wheels and tires. i have 17570r13's wich are stock on it now. i want to upgrade to bigger rims but im not sure what will fit or what make to get them off of. so i am just looking for examples that people have done or suggestions on wich way to go. i will go to the six lug conversion if i have too but i would like to stay with the ************ty 4 x 140 bolt pattern with either some pugs or a toyota steel wheel that can adapt to 4 lug. im open to any suggestions. thanx if you can post a pic of examples or where to get a set that would be awsome.
  10. ok i have a 92 push button 4wd 5 speed S/R loyale. i want....wait i need to replace the shock and strut setups. the ones on it are worn out and belived to be the original's. i have a 2.5l swap into the car so its a little heavier in the front. i want to use the stock setup and i plan on putting the progressive king springs on when i swap out the shock and strut setups. so my question is since kyb doesn't make front 4WD shock and strut packages for my loyales suspension with the exception for the rear of a 4wd wagon in my year, is there anything else that would fit or be a benfincial upgrade with the stock setup or should i just got with some Oem replacements from Sachs? any help is apprecitated Uploaded with ImageShack.us this my wagon 92 loyale 2.5rs wagon:grin:
  11. i am looking for some pug wheels u know where to get a set? let me know thanx

  12. hey scott i got the ea 82 engine out of my 92 loyale, missing a few parts but the guts are there and most of the stuff. if you know anbody or if you would be interested let me know

  13. basically you will be taking out the stock engine control wiring and the ecu from the 1.8 spfi loyale and be replacing it with the wiring and ecu from the donor car. so you will only be using the ecu from the ej series engine not the loyale's stock one. All said and done with paying 700.00 for the car a year ago i have about 3,500 into it with all the custom wiring, wich i had a guy here in town do for me Adam at NWRS, the ea to ej adapter plate, XT6 clutch kit, oil pressure plate adapter, gauges, and the list goes on. Its not cheap to do the right way but when its done and everything works and its reliable, you cant put a price on that. and thats why i love my ************in subaru............hell yeah
  14. hey man i swapped a SOHC 2.5L out of a 02 impreza into my 92 subaru loyale. the mechanical part of the swap is fairly straight forward with the adapter plate, and xt6 clutch kit, and all of the parts to fit the engine to the loyale drivetrain. The hard part of the swap is the wiring. what you get from knumbchux i belive, is the harness you supply modifiied and cut down to the engine controls only and re-loomed for fittament to your car and labeled of course. but you cant forget that you will have to Run and and connect the wiring your self, find the pin-out for the new ecu and your existing loyale ecu, match the wires and find the proper ways to make your, tach, speedo, temp, oil pressure, etc. work! its a pain and to do it the right way will cost a pretty penny, but if your serious about your loyale swap and wana have somehthing to keep and have as reliable i would highly reccomend doing research or taking to a SUBARU SHOP. ill post a pic soon for you so you can see mine. i am very happy with it.
  15. OK i figured it out. there is a diaphram with two vacuum lines that are mounted on the side of the 5 Speed Transmission. these two lines off of the side and bottom of the diaphram route up next to the oil pressure sending unit to a vacuum sensor with two other vacuume lines that route back to the pressure tank on the passenger side below the window, and then when all lines are connected and working the vacuum initiates the transmission shift into 4WD. Worked for me just make sure you dont get the lines backwards or it wont full activate it will seem like it wants to but wont. i just swapped the lines and worked perfect.
  16. :banghead:ok i have just transplaneted a 2.5L impreza engine into my loyale. i have it all running and everything works, Tach, Speedo, Temp gauge, Oil Pressure, etc. I cant seem to find a a vaccume line diagram for the 4WD activation. everything is connceted to the cannister and the lines are ran until the exchange unit right next to the stock oil pressure gauge, then it goes into a vacc. sensor of some kind and has a outlet of two lines accros from a another set of two They are green inlets and the vacc. lines run from the cannister to these two vacc. inlets. and this is where i am stuck. i am looking on how to runs these line to make the 4WD work. im pretty sure it has been done before so i am just looking for some advice or how somebody else has done it. its a push button S/R 4wd 5 speed and there are just two vaccume lines that were disconnected right in front of the stock oil pressure sending unit. i have a phase 2 2.5l SOCH engine out of a 02 impreza rs. :banghead: thanx for all of ur useful advice and i hope somebody has done this before.
