Custom Shifter Boots - Have extra

Used to be able to buy rubber insert flooring for a lot of vehicles, you might find some that would fit close from small pick ups. I had a friend with an s10 with rubber lined floors. -
Custom Shifter Boots - Have extra

Take out your seats, trim, and console and put bed liner on it. Its pretty easy to apply, and not to expensive, its not gonna come off though. I hear it cuts noise a bit. Gotta lay it on thick. not sure about heat resistance. -

Sounds good. So, check by phone? ha ha, send me a message or let me know how to buy for the manual, never done this bit,or much else on a computer before the USMB. Do many Gen 1 owners find much from vendors or wheel and deal on the historic page? I am seriously hard up for a drivers door window regulator, the metal stripped away on the back of the gear. -

That's what i thought, at 94 bucks after shipping. Trying to keep this thing runnin till next year when it will become a project instead of a driver. Where is the best place to find a chiltons book? Even if i screw it up i'm only out gasket cost. I'm millatent about doing what i can, and determand to learn, in spite of my lack of drunkin spelling capabillities. I LOVE WEEKENDS! Don't worry, most of the secondary fundage is devoted to the Groundhog. -

Quality is a good point. I had it looked at when i got tires, at least 3 leaks, its pretty messy. If the average gasket is 20 bucks, it's not much more to get a whole kit. I think valve covers are ok but wanna get compression check/valve adjustment sometime soon as it seems to have a lack of power,(aside from its obvious small engine). -

I'll see if i can order or find a chiltons right off. gonna order gasket kit tomorrow. -
I have a few leaks(oil pan,oil filter unit thing, maybe main) Debating on trying changing them myself. I'm inclined enough, I've just never changed a gasket. Clean the metal, keep out the junk, obvious. RTV or not? Torque settings for Main and oil pan online? Possible valve adjust while i'm in it? I heard the pressure gauge is cheap and info seemed simple. I suppose EA71 specific info/advice would be the most helpful, and/or I need a little nudge to pick up a wrench.

Need new shocks for gen. 1 wagon
Whitehog replied to Whitehog's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Good lookin out, sounds like one of the tougher parts to find. Wondering if some new similar shocks could be rigged in with some part sharing? Gotta be somethin to put in it. -

Sorry im new, for what years and models? -
79 4wd - can new rear shocks and front shocks/struts be found with any ease or is this a modification thing now? I'm in AZ, checked BAP and many websites and stores to no avail. I hear I can get balljoints and tie rod ends, fingers crossed and dont mind paying a bit of shipping.

EA71 Low Compression???
Whitehog replied to oleman77's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
I'm no mechanic but in my research I've heard low compression is usually either valve adjustment or worse burnt rings and bearings. I'm getting oil blowback out of the top of mine and loss of power, i hear thats usually the cause. This could be different for boxers, i'm not sure yet, but if i find more info I'll post up. I'm sure the resident experts can help,(hint hint) it's a common engine problem. -

Whitehog replied to Whitehog's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Shocks and suspension i can pretty much handle but im not to comfortable changing gaskets. Whats an Etron ignition? -
Anyone Know what i can do for gaskets or rebuild kits for my recently bought 79 wagon. leakin lots of oil and blowback, gonna check for compression soon and adjust the valves(granted finding a decent mechanic in a new town). Unfortunately this is my daily driver for now until i can park it and really start refurbishing. I'm not super keen on know how or soobs, this is my first "cool" vehicle and its grown on me more than i thought it would in spite of the parts shock.

hi sorry to bother but i just bought a 79 wagon and found an old post of yours about these rotten 13" wheels. i'd love to move up to a 14" or 15" for all terrain. stock wheel in 14" or some work involved? Lemme know if i'm being intrusive and i'll stick to threads, i'm new on this and don't really know the proper etiquite.
