  4. Upgrading the ignition system with new performance MSD wires, and a MSD blaster coil. Got a surprise with a nice clicking noise that was the arking on cylinder #2, The new wires were needed why not go big... I got a K&N air filter and it's amazing the difference in responsive nice, MPG, and hp. Then the wire burnt through.
  5. Sounds like what I planed on doing before I saw an 88 with MAF. It's nice to know the AFM is not easily switched to the MAF. I will be changing all the hoses to neoprene before I modify the boost control. I was looking a inter coolers from a VW. And a water methanol kit from snow performance.

  11. Greg Rossi off of my Facebook page I hate plastic. My headlight switch broke in my Subaru while they inspected it. December 14 at 5:06pm Greg Rossi Fixed it, I don't know how it broke but it works now. December 14 at 10:42pm · Like Greg Rossi I'm fixing it again I got it back with new inspection, but a broken switch. December 17 at 10:20pm · Like Greg Rossi They broke it good this time. I have to order a new one at $200 and I can't get it till February. Having to explain how to use a switch to a mechanic is sad...
  12. It's nice to know that it can be done with epoxy and patients. https://sites.google.com/site/1980srestore/Welcome/updates-news/electricalfun/IMAG_0076.jpg https://sites.google.com/site/1980srestore/Welcome/updates-news/electricalfun/IMAG_0077.jpg

  14. Check out Spec clutchs, They have three stanges for the XT, GL, DL and a custom order program, but you have to call them.
  15. I used refills for the wiper blade, Looking at a Specter or a Thrush Turbo2 muffler to replace the old one until I get the new piping done.
  16. I don't know yet it depends on what the new seats cost, and the dash cost to be recovered. i like the inside of the car, but the dash pad is all but gone in it. I have to get it on the road before I can really work on it I need a 4wd. It should be on the road next week, just needs a muffler, and wiper blade.

  19. Thanks, I'm still working on my page. My XT will be on the road soon. It needs a muffler, front pads to pass inspection. I'm looking to retro fit a exhaust system, I can get a 3 inch pipes that way. Front pads are ordered.
  20. http://sites.google.com/site/1980srestore That's my google page I have most of the pictures there. I'm still working on the site
  21. I don't know how to get a URL for my pictures? Can I get some Help?
  22. sites.google.com/site/1980restore/ Here is my project page I'm working on. It has all the pictures of the XT project.
  23. Starting point. The car had been abandon for three years in a yard by a creek, the owner told me he hated that it was domed to rot. I bout the car the next week. It didn't even run on either. It had spark, I replaced the bad plugs with new bosch plugs, then a new ECU solved the fuel problem. It runs great now it's time for some restoration, before modification.
  24. Is the EA82TT still using it's turbo? 9.5:1 is high for an older turbo charged engine, normally people lower to compression and increase boost. If you run your own ignition, and timed port injection system, it might hold. You should use larger head studs if you plan to run it much over 6 psi for a great amount of time, (more than a few seconds). 12 psi @ 9.5 makes a EA82T at 90 hp go to 219hp tripling the pressure in the combustion chamber. To ansuwer your question, an STI would have the best control system. Thats what you should use, cost more than a used RS, but thats what you need. Their is a post about Stand alone ECM's in an XT it would help you a lot.
