  1. Thanks.....so it sounds like unless I really want to step up in costs....there is basically no difference. Really good to know. So if I go the cheap route....its all the same except for price. Right?
  2. okay I have hopefully made arrangements to get an adapter kit for the swap (waiting for info from Gloyale). It is being done to XT6 specs (recommended). Now with that said, what clutch kit do I need? What is the difference between XT and XT6. Any money I can save is good, but with all invested in the swap can't afford to not put in what is needed. Peoples opinions on the various clutch kits available.
  3. well.....glad to hear your gonna plow through this. If you need further assistance gathering parts, I have discovered that I love going to the salvage yard and will help you get other parts. Good luck SubaruGL!
  4. Hey thanks for the reply.....even though I would like to sell all this stuff, I am not sure he wants to do all this work and still end up with an EA82....with that said....Gloyale....when and how can I get a hold of you? I want one of the adapter kits. I will drive down to Corvallis anytime I need to to pick one up....was also wondering if you will drill the flywheel I have. I have a few questions too. Please email me robcor2@gmail.com. Thanks
  5. Okay, selling an injection system off of a MPFI EA82. THe person buying it(maybe), wants to convert his carbed EA82 to MPFI. A little concerned about all that is needed to do this project. He writes "The more I'm researching this though, the more stuff I find I will need.... ignition and fuel pump relays from steering column, coil bracket assembly, distributor, y-pipe with Oxygen sensor mounting hole (I could probably fab this), fuel pump and bracket. Then the biggy, the heads are different (I think the pistons are slightly too) :/ If you know something I don't please let me know. I already have to rebuild (well at least replace a crank bearing) in my bottom end, so I don't want to sink TOO much money into this I don't really have." Does anyone know what all is needed to convert? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
  6. I sent you an email. I am ready to talk about an adapter kit and a few other things I might need. Got the ej22 at my house and gonna start prepping everything tomorrow before the head gasket kit arrives. It would be awesome if you could call me. My phone number is 503-267-7753. Robert
  7. Going to the Portland OR. PnP on Sunday. Lotsa first gens sitting out there. Anyone need anything? Pulling an ej22 so gonna be there most of the day. I will check this post before leaving on Sunday morning so hit me up
  8. If it ends up being the injectors.....I have a full set that was just taken off an 85 GL10 for sale.
  9. Hi Clay....well....the second engine that we got has stripped out too???? so.....we have decided to go forth on the ej22 swap. This leaves us getting our money back for the parts that we did not install. We are gonna go pull the motor out of a junkyard nice legacy with only 100k miles on it and get the kit from the guy in bellingham. So.....this leaves us with some parts to sell. We have some freshly machined heads, exhaust, and the MPFI injections system from the GL10. If you know anyone doing a headgasket or rebuild on their EA82, please send them my way. Trying to raise a little money now to pay for the ej22 swap.

  10. Thanks we will check it out....what is the website for HighGuys? Also, I have posted for sale in the classifieds section that I have freshly milled and tested EA82 heads for sale and a gasket kit for the same motor.....So anyone needing to do a re-build on their engine can save some money and time.
  11. Hi. His is name is Max Hill, I can give you his phone number. A lot of small jobs he does on site....and some bigger ones he does them at this home. He generally charges about 25 per hour book time. He installed two head gaskets now for me for 250 bucks labor. and has done a number of other jobs. Usually about a third as much after parts of any quotes I get from independent shops. Let me know if you are interested. Robert

  12. I saw a post for someone that needed a Portland mechanic. I have a guy that has done 2 Headgaskets for me and a slew of other stuff. He is good and Cheap. So anyone in the area that hates paying full shop prices should give a PM and I will get you his number. He is better with 3rd generation and older but can work on the rest as well. He has kept my 1st gen in outstanding condition.
  13. Thanks....I thanked you on the other board also. Won't be getting around to it now for a few days. Had a major setback with the block and had to replace it. But will be using them soon. Appreciate it!
  14. Thanks....I just went to their website and checking it out!
  15. I have an 85 GL-10 wagon with a N/A EA82 SOHC, and a 5spd. I'm wondering if I can bolt a 90+ EJ22 to the current transmission?
  16. Does anyone have a vacuum diagram for an EA82 MPFI?....about to tear down an 1985 GL 10 and wanted to have a diagram ready before re-assembly. Thanks
