  1. i jacked it up and the tire spun freely with no problem or rubbing on anything, the bearing isnt bad yet from what i can tell atleast cause it doesent rock around on the hub like the one i had to replace did, but when reversing sometimes or taking off from my drive way it makes an odd noise not too loud but its there, type of grinding slash moaning noise hard to describe, i cant fathom what would cause it, i cant really see if the suspensions bad cuz i dont have any experience with it, it drives fine bit i just noticed it and i was like wow:eek: i would like to fix it but i dont know whats wrong.:-\
  2. ive had this car for about 3 months and i never realized the driver side rear tire kina slanted in trwards the top, closer inspection revealed it severley wearing the tire on the inside:confused: only on the drivers rear side, is this a suspension problem? i couldnt see any loose/ damaged stuff i am not a specialist so not exactly sure if there was, but i did notice the cv boot is a little more of an angle than the one on the other side, but if you can tell me what would cause this it would be greatly appreciated, i cant even afford new tires so i need to know why thats happening:-\ thanks guys! 3. That's a beautiful wagon you got there, in the slow process of restoring mine also, but wont look that awesome when its done
  4. unfortunately a new bumper wont solve the problem,:-\ there is lost of bent metal behind the headlight and fender, the headlight needs to be replaced it has an open hole:horse: and the damage goes further back where u cant see in the pics, have to ghetto rig it all to get the fender to fit properly, almost seems like if i took the bumper off, it wouldnt go back on unless i knew how to fix the damage done by the accident, looks like i will have to save up, and have some body work done:dead: [/img]
  5. Thankyou! and i wish dont have the Money to make it:horse: otherwise, it would be a great experience:)
  6. Also this place has the specs, just gotta find em, from what i saw it said (1781cc sohC (ea82) 8 Valve 1994-85 ● 1st 22, 2nd 43, 3rd 47, Torque sec. 58) check for yourself if not sure, http://olybrake.com/pdf/fel_pro_torque_specs_guide SDO5
  7. dont have any real experience with torque specs, but heres what i found, hope this helps. http://www.uniquemotorsports.com/2011/02/subaru-head-torque-specs-and-sequence/ http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2611352520067339125VDhZqM
  8. Hello jeryst! Welcome, and Congrats on the Subaru! would like to see some pics  this place has been great for me, and it will be for you also! SDO5
  9. Welcome! you will find tons of help here from a lot of good people who love there Subaru's:)
  10. Spray it out with Carb cleaner and some q-tips that's what i did, make sure the piece inside it isnt stuck, and will move around(if stuck its problly shot) other things can contribute to the idol problem, like a bad Coolant temperature sensor which was the problem in my case, i replaced it and solved problem, could be tps sensor, or unajusted gas peddal cables, also check for damaged or cracked hoses in your vaccum lines, they get old and brittle and will break and cause idol problems, just some kind suggestions, im not a mechanic, but this is what i learned about this problem, hope this helps. for a future referance post youre problems on a new thread if you cant find any solutions for your cars problem, and welcome to the board!
  11. Thanks everyone, i know exactley what to do now your help is appreciated.:-p SDO5
  12. Thanks GD, will order one from the dealership tomorrow.
  13. I have recently replaced the thermostat, cts, in my loyale, along with the gasket cause it was leaky, i scraped off the old one and put some sealer stuff(just a little) around the bolt holes, and after driving home from workin today, i noticed theres a little tiny bit of coolant oozing out of the new gasket, and the by the bolts that hold it on there, nothing major, did i make a bad choice by not using an OEM gasket?:-\ or did i not use enough sealant etc?.. thanks!.
  14. That poor scooby! i feel greatful that mine has only spots of rust that arent too big, best of wishes to our fallen friend:dead:
  15. thanks cmill189 i will definatley look into doing this, first i am going to replace all vacuum lines/hoses leading to the solenoid purge valve and the EGR solenoid to se if that it will be a quick fix, if not i know what to do:banana:
  16. Ah i know some help would be awesome about now, i have an idea, tomorrow i will take off the fender, maybe take off the headlight lens assembly and see if there is any body damage, maybe i can pound it out, or ill i have to replace the fender, i am very unfamiliar with body work, the previous owner mistreated this car alot.:-\ but im hoping for the best! will update again tomorrow, thanks!
  17. Well, i cant seem to find a solenoid purge control valve, or an EGR solenoid at the part stores, i took them out and cleaned them, and any hoses i could that attached to them, put it back together, and disconnected the negative terminal from the battery for 10 seconds, but the codes are still being put out so im sure they need replacing cause they have leaks or something, anyone know where i can find these parts? thanks. SD05
  18. Thank you, unfortunately I dont have access to fiberglass at the moment or i would make the bumper cooler looking and paint it red, the bumper itself is okay, its just that it is pushed in on that side, so im thinking the metal peice the bumper bolts on to the car with, is pushed in, and or bent, i tried taking the peice that covers the Styrofoam stuff it off but the screws are too tight:dead: and i cant seem to get the body work off to even locate where the bumper bolts to the car. i dont have much experience with body work, so im not sure what to do at this point, sorry for the long post.
  19. Okay they guy i bought this from ran into a fence post that was pretty solid , nothing major, it just knocked the left side of the bumper (from the front veiw) in an inch or two, and bent in that lining that goes under the head light, i had to get a used fender cause of the damage, but anyway, heres pics im planning on picking up a new head light lense and the metal lining peice, but i cant unless the bumpers fixed cause the pieces wouldn't fit right with the bent side, would like to know is there any way to take this bumper off and fix it the way its bent in? or do i have to go to the U-pull yard and get a new one? any help would be great, thanks!
  20. That was actually very easy, i got code 34, (EGR solenoid), and code 35 ,(Solenoid purge valve). now to fix them lol thanks for the help guys:banana:
  21. Thanks! glad to be here. that is the subie that was on Cl. i decided to fix her instead of sellin. ive learned alot fom that car, now i just want more subarus!
  22. That helps alot, i have a better understanding of how long the pauses and pulses are for one code put together, or multiple, now just to try to make sense of it when i try it Tomorrow , weel se how it goes. Thank you 92_rugby_subie SD05
  23. These are awesome subarus! wish i could get my hands on a subaru coupe like that. id like to see more pics sometime:popcorn:
  24. It takes my 90 loyale forever to disengage 4wheel drive its very time consuming and bad for the car im sure, then it randomly clunks out like 15 minutes later of me trying, im sure somethings gunked up or sticking under there..:-\
  25. I am not sure if ea81 or ea82 thermostats are the same, i just replaced mine today in my 90 loyale with one from Shucks, they usually have them in stock at your local parts store for around 8-10 dollars, and its an easy fix, hope this helps.
