  1. I love all of my family's first gen Legacys. My dad bought my mom a 98 Outback wagon back in July and its been a great car so far. Yes it does have an oil leak and there is a slight case of torque bind but that doesn't detract from the overall greatness of the car. It runs and drives super. I'm surprised that it handles as good as it does to be that tall. And I don't car what people say the 2.5 has enough power to run 70-75 all day long and not even break a sweat. And my gosh does it look amazing!
  2. I believe that the 96 Outbacks w/ 5spds were available w/ the 2.2. If it is a 2.5 it only has 155 hp unlike the 97 and up Outbacks which have 165 hp. The 96 2.5 also requires premium fuel.
  3. We looked at and drove a 98 Outback a few weeks ago. It had the 2.5, at, and 143k miles on it. Very clean and nice car and at the price the dealer was going to let us have it at---$4300. We would have bought it but the previous owner didn't disclose some of the problems on it when they traded it and we decided to pass on it. IIRC, the 2.2 was available only in 95 & 96, after that the 2.5 was standard issue.
  4. I think onstar is available on the H6 Outbacks and thats it...not 100% but remember seeing it in one of the brochures somewhere. Kevin
  5. I finally got around to making a webpage for my family's Subarus. Here's the link: http://hometown.aol.com/goatkid13/ Lemme know what you guys think. Kevin
  6. My dad's 89 DL had the seat belt system like this. If you pull the lap belt out and move the fabric on the buckle you will see a set of holes for the shoulder strap to fit in. Attach and adjust and then buckle like you normally would. Hope this helps Kevin
