  1. Not to be the safety police, but be sure and make those welds good ones. A serious impact and they'll bust loose. mt Will be looking for some Impulse seats.
  2. What year CRX did your seats come from? Pics would be great if you can. thanks - mt
  3. Yup, Compressor died. I appreciate the info. mark
  4. Car is a 1994 Legacy L with R134a. Am replacing my ac compressor, but am unsure about the oil type I need. Local auto place has a low viscosity oil and a high viscosity oil. Does it matter which I use? Also I do not know the exact amount to use. Would it be best to just empty my old compressor and put the same amount back in? Thanks - Mark
  5. Any chance these could be had in silver?
  6. Howdy - Looking to see if anyone knows the Sachs part number for the gas struts that keep the hatch open on a 1987 EA-81 hatchback. Also does anyone know what cars a Sachs/Stabilus part # SG123002 will fit? I appreciate it.
  7. Noise continues when applying brakes. No noise when jacked up and turning the wheels by hand. Don't have any looseness to make me think it would be the bearings. Dunno. Am trying to get this Legacy fixed for sale so I can buy the 1979. Thank you much for the manual. I hope to use it soon! Thanks - Mark
  8. 1994 Leagcy wagon, 5 speed AWD. Have replaced the struts, axles, brakes and I have a noise. It is not engine speed sensitive, but vehicle speed sensitive. Will not make the noise (kind of a "whump, whump, whump) while driving straight. Only when turning the wheels. Anyone have an idea? I would greatly appreciate it. PS - Tires at proper pressure. Rotated them and the noise stays in the front.
  9. My understanding is that POR-15 is a rust encapsulator. It will cover what rust you have and prevent any further spread. It is a little pricey, but if you have a nice car and want to keep it that way then this stuff might be the ticket. I have a low-rust hatch (by east coast standards) that I plan on using the POR stuff on. Heckuva lot cheaper than doing bodywork a couple years down the line. Just a thought.
  10. Drop an email of PM when you get a chance. thanks - Mark
  11. Bump.......... and a few more letters for more than 10 characters.
  12. BUMP. I've looked on the jc whitney site too for these and have no luck. mark
  13. So I got the seats out and the driver side was a pond. Both front and back. Car is not being drivien currently and it's sitting on level ground. Has anyone removed the rubber mat and insulation? Wondering if the car will be too loud if I take it all out for good. Maybe coat the floor with POR-15 or maybe the spray-on bed liner stuff. Any thoughts? Syill haven't found where it's leaking from yet. thanks - Mark
  14. So I'm yanking out my nasty seats and find there is water under the rubber floor mat. Before I get the hose on it in the daylight, are there any places EA-81 hatchbacks tend to leak water into the cab? Scaring the h@ll out of me that the floor might be rotted out cause the rest of the car is pretty rust-free. Thanks - Mark
  15. Appreciate all the info. mt
  16. Thanks Shawn. You have a favorite vendor for getting the right parts when you order? Mark
  17. A while back someone spoke well of a "Luchs" or "Lucks" or something brand clutch. Tried a search and could not find the thread. Anyone remember what it was? Needing clutch kit for EA-81 4wd hatch. Since we're on the subject, it seems pulling the engine is the preferred method to replace a clutch. Anyone favor pulling the tranny? Also, with this hatch being a 1987 getting parts is sort of a PITA. Got an order from oemparts.com and half of it was wrong. Anyone have a recommendation for a good vendor? Feel free to ping me off list if you like. Thank you much - Mark
  18. MM - Might be my computer, but the pics aren't showing up. mt
  19. Copy that. $85 was feeling a little high. Will keep looking. thanks - mt
  20. Tried to pm you. Mailbox is full. Mudflaps on a 1983 Brat in a yard. Shoot me your top price and I'll snag them for you if you want. Not looking to make any cashish off of you. They're just sitting there going to rot. Mark
  21. Not being a coni-sewer (check that spelling!) of brushguards, I have to say it looks most like the middle pic of the 83 brochure. Has some rust, but should clean up alright. The yard is in VA, but I will be pressed for time and will have to ship from TN. Yard is wanting $85, but I think that's a shade high. What do guards go for? mt
  22. My hatch is 4wd. Found a brushguard at a yard near my folks' house. Would rather have an A-bar, but may snag this brushguard if he'll come off the price a little. Anyone want to trade? mt
  23. So will a brushguard that fits a 1983 Brat bolt onto a 1987 hatch? thanks - Mark
  24. Copy that. Thanks Miles - Mark
  25. So I am running out of time to mess with this thing tonight, but should the rear drum come off pretty easy? Beat on it with a mallet, but no luck. E-brake is off, by the way. mt
