Picked up cats today, is same as off 2.2, main difference, has extra Ox sensor hole in back cat AND is One piece verses two separate cats...should be a shoe in fit to install.. Thanks Again to all who assisted me in this endeavor

Hey Guys Have an 96 Legacy Outback 2.2 Cat from an 2.5 available new Interchangable? Hope one or some of you guys might shed some light on catalytic converters fit/compatability from an 96 Legacy Outback 2.2 to an 2.5.. Have one available cheap that is from an 2.5 engine, looks same, I know have to modify with adding a flange and probably extending second cat wire to reach front....or possibly drill a second sensor hole in first cat, have my brother weld mounting for sensor Guess what am asking is if anyone ever did a swap that worked, even see foresters cats available...just go against my grain to pay for a new one... Duh...

John~ Have done many Soobie HG jobs and concluded Radiator Volume restrictions (usually caused by mineral build up) along with extra pressure from flow restrictions to be part of prob(even if temp gauge shows normal). Unless flushing done on a regular basis, will not clean out these mineral deposits. Everytime I got a soobie (especially Turbos) made preventive change of Radiator. Results over years have proven theory rings true. Jeff BTW~How's Kalispell treating you and weather conditions there? Was there 25 yrs ago, beautiful country and clean clear waters.

I wanted to go last year to "the pine Barrens" excursion, but other half had other ideas. If you guys finally decide on someplace central, will at least show face and try some lil offroad trailin. Question:Will subframe from 93 non turbo fwd part cause any probs before I do all the work? I have an 90's awd 5 spd tranny that came out of a sedan. Looking to see if anyone knows how to check by number on trans to convert to gear ratio...Am trying to see if same as 90 awd sw without necessarily using "turn by turn" technique to determine differential ratio...Thanx in Advance Jeff
