The difference between morning and afternoon runs....
Dryer, smoother, but maybe some deeper bumps. But the BIG difference was the REALLY REALLY tight 90s got opened up. I stood at the first set of 90s in the afternoon and the cars were able to really scream through them.

I have installed a skid plate of sorts for it, just havent taken any pictures yet.
There is the engine bay...

If that pressure plate clamps 50% more, then combine that with the Kennedy six puck, and I think you will be pretty damn happy. Not so sure about daily driving, but pretty damn happy.
As far as daily driving goes, my wife drives mine and never complains. I have the six puck, a HEAVY forester flywheel and an RS pressure plate.

$99 gets you a Kennedy 6 puck unsprung disk. The one I have is currently holding 175 torque, 155hp, and I drag race it, and I also rallycross it. Never slipped once, nor smelled it either.

I will be installing a skid plate.....
Not for the oil pan....
But damn that IC hits ************!
I slammed it into my driveway tonight! Biff! Wasnt horrible, but I now have incentive to make one.
I am going to order a sheet of 3/16" aluminium, cut to size, have it bent at a sheet metal shop at the right spots, and then install some various other parts on it to protect the side hoses and what not. Or so goes the plan.

OH yeah baby!
My kids are amped to get back up there and cause more stress to more parents!
And I doubt that I will blow this motor up. Damn.....
I am actually hoping to have the wiring cleaned up this time. And if I get lucky, the second supercharger mounted as well.
Your AWIC belongs to someone in Washington now, and the pump belongs to Vicash.

Current setup. I installed a ported manifold and FMIC.

Buy a gallon of denatured alchohol into the tank. 1st point, it wont hurt and 2nd point, it might help! Get rid of weird moisture problems and cold h20 problems in the tank. Basically just gas cleaner.

If its the coil on top of the manifold, and 90-94 in year, I am giving it a 75% chance that any coil from a US 90-94 legacy would work, either the hitachi or diamond. They are interchangable.

The pressure plate is VERY different. This is because one is a push style and the other is a pull style. (can't remember which is which). But the turbo disk has the through out bearing ATTACHED to teh pressure plate. Same goes for WRX clutches. So basically the WRX and Turbo trannies have some interchangeable parts and the NA stuff has ALOTof interchangable parts.
-
NA clutch parts for NA legacies, foresters and imps are all pretty interchangable. I have a 1990 wagon and am using a 1998 Forester flywheel, a 2002 RS pressure plate and throwout bearing and a Kennedy 6 puck disk. Total cost was about $195 for all of the above, thank goodness for Ebay. The only item I bought new was the disk for $97.

Coolant Temp Sensor. I had pretty close to the same symptoms.
-
Not calling you an idiot.
Which? temp sensor did you replace? The one that needs to be replaced is the one on the water bridge between the two block halves. It should be on the drivers side for a Turbo, but on the NAs it on the passenger side.

Unless you are notorious at missing shifts, the tranny should hold up fine. I am making over 220 torque on my NA motor and tranny and its holding up fine. Where you will have problems is the clutch. You need to upgrade the clutch because the stock OEM NA clutch doesnt like power. But if you get a RS pressure plate you can get a $100 Kennedy 6 puck disk that holds power up to 250 chp or so. Thats my setup and I am very happy with it.
I have went through one NA tranny, but that was my fault, with a BAD shift from first to 2nd, where I didnt quite get it into second at 6000 rpm. Whoops.
But I have made over 100 drag racing passes with my old tranny, and about 25 drag passes on this tranny. I am getting 1.9 60' times with this tranny, no complains, and no grinds or noises.

Here is my 1990 Supercharged wagon at the track on Alfa day.
And at a Rallycross last year

I had pulled, inserted, pulled inserted my motor so long I felt like a porn star. So by the time I got a motor running, I left them off. I have done a little offroading and mud splashing since then and it seems to have missed all the critical parts.

My computer takes forever to convert the files AND I got 56k so it takes FOREVER (like hours) to upload a file. So I just havent gotten around to it. Sorry,
-
There is also the fuel tank sock which can get seriously clogged. When inspected, it should be puffy, not sucked in.
-
If you are pulling the motor to do the headgaskets, I say pull your pistons and put new rings in. And you can also replace the front and main seal IF they are leaking. You can also send you heads out and have them rebuilt for $150-200.
If you can pull you motor and take your heads off, you can do your pistons rings.
I have a DVD of how to do your pistons and rings if you want for $7.50 PM me if you are intereested.

Sorry, now with that info you is shiet out of luck. You have a bad starter (easy fix) but also have a bad throwout bearing. The bearing requires dropping the tranny or pulling the motor. Of course the benefit of this is the fact you get to install a new clutch.
Everytime this has happened to me, I just rebuild the engine while I am at it.

I vote fuel pump. The odds that Subaru changed fuel pumps from the old to the 06 are pretty atranomical, so I vote upgrading to the Walbro....
