93 Legacy stalls
sregor13 replied to Strakes's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXOnce I have seen Josh answer a post it almost seems pointless to reply. He is simply the master of the 90-94 Legacy and probably all Subes. Neonetheless, I will throw the Crank Sensor in as a potential gremlin.

Update - Still looking for a Subie in PDX - thanks for the advice
sregor13 replied to outback_97's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI wonder why a car with 60,000 Miles would need new head gasket? Stop leak? I wouldn't spend 8500.00. I cant remember all the recalls on the 97 Outback Wagon. Was there an issue with engine?

Dash Illumination Problems
sregor13 replied to AdamC's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXDid you use a wiring harness or did you cut some wires? Hopefully the former. If not then make sure you dont have them turned down on the switch. No offense, but sometimes simple things get overlooked. Also wondering how you grounded your receiver. Also not sure what you mean when you say there are two wires left over/ Are those left over from where they entered the stock stereo? Just curious. Also what color are these two wires?

Hi to all subaru owners
FYI- I have been looking for a touring Wagon for three years know. Nice SCore! Careful with the heads on that Turbo. I think you paid a fair price for such a rare car. BTW- Which Fuse, I have a 90 that I am parting out. Let me know if you need anything. Thanks

I bought myself a newer Subaru
sregor13 replied to syphon's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThat car is awesome, almost the car of my dreams. I would take a 97 just like that one. Congratulations on your acquisition. Let me know if you ever want to get rid of it.

Window Tint on a Subaru
sregor13 replied to sregor13's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI used a 13% Platinum. I think limo is 6% and I think you can get it in 4% as well. I was able to go darker becasue the color was platinum. Limo is the kinda thing that will get you a ticket. But you should be able to put it on the back window and the rear windows. For me I just want to keep the Sun off my little baby. She has fair skin.

Transmission in Loyale? Any ideas
So were there different bell housing patterns for the 4EAT or were they called something else. Do I need to just find a 4EAT tranny or do I need to find a 4EAT out of a Turbo? Thanks

Transmission in Loyale? Any ideas
This is an old subject, never solved. Anyone have an idea of what transmission is in a 90 Loyale Wagon Auto Turbo Full-Time 4WD? I am pretty sure this is different than the AWD. Mine binds from time to time and I dont know where to buy solenoids and such. Thought I might just need a new tranny because after all the binding I am afraid the Center Diff is getting damaged. Thought it might be an electrical problem at one point. Thanks

Window Tint on a Subaru
In general, does anyone know about how much it would cost to get your windows tinted. I had Zero Luck on the Window tintig message board. I am getting my 96 Subaru Impreza outback Wagon tinted and a 94 Legacy tinted. How much is it worth. So I know this is not exact but is it like 75 to have a car tinted or 175? I have no clue becasue nobody around here does it. Thanks

Play the Name Game
Not if I designed it. It might be an available option for backwards people. Just kidding- the Greek Word is simply the actual meaning of Subaru predating any any Latin or Germanic Lanuguages by a few thousand years. Maybe this thread should be in the Off Topic Forum. Sorry Moderators.

Play the Name Game
I agree about the Woodtrim Stuff, makes me think of cheap suits and 80's Era TV's. I had a VW Baja Bug once with a Wood Dash- it had class, but then again it was actually wood. Maybe they could come out with a 4WD Car again. That would be nice. I had a name earlier, but another name would be "Unidad" Spanish for Unity.

Play the Name Game
Maybe it should be called Pleiades, greek for Subaru

Fuel Tank- Legacy 90-94 Interchange
sregor13 replied to sregor13's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXS o it would probably be a good time to do the rear Suspension ( Converting from Air Suspension to Conventional? ) Thanks

Fuel Tank- Legacy 90-94 Interchange
sregor13 replied to sregor13's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThanks Josh. I figured it would fit just fine. The Subaru Shop wants $550 to put a used tank in my car. Thats 150 for the tank and another $360 in Labor. Since I make 8 Bucks an hour I figured I could take the tank out of my 90 and take about 50 Hours, still saving money. Any idea how long it would take a layman to do? I have a garage and tools and Books and basic skills. Thanks

I called Tirerack and they said these do not work to raplce Air Suspension. Does anyone know why? Thanks

Damage from Auto transport question- Legacy
sregor13 replied to sregor13's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXyes they were upfront about the damage at least. Thier Insurance wont cover it, but maybe they will be able to ride it off. Thanks

Damage from Auto transport question- Legacy
sregor13 replied to sregor13's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe car is sitting in Denver at Strictly Automotive so they can swap it. About all I can do is get them Black Flagged through the Auto Transport Brokers Association. I ask because I know I am biased.

Tranny - help needed

Damage from Auto transport question- Legacy
I just had a car shipped from NY to Co. The Air Suspension was shot on this car so it was riding low. During transit the Driver stopped to visit his family for Easter, so it took a couple of extra days. Anyways, sometime during shipment a tire went flat and a whole got punched into the Fuel tank. I am asking for an opinion- Should the Auto Transport Company Pay for it to be repaired. My thoughts are- they could have done something about the tire during shipment to avoid this. Thanks

Stretched Clutch Cable?
Just dont use a bunch of washers like I did. I like the idea of using a socket. The washers I put on mine are sliding back and forth and causing problems. I am just going to get another clutch cable. Thanks

Switching doors- anyone got instructions
I was only going to switch the rear doors, what is the thing between the two hinges, is it a lever or something to keep the door from opening to far? Thanks

Switching doors- anyone got instructions
I am swapping the doors out of a 87 Wagon into a 85. They look like they will fit just fine. Anyone have any instructions on how to do this. looks pretty simple I am not sure what all would be entailed. Thanks

any ideas ? or things to try ?
The colors of the wires do vary I have noticed. On my Loyale under the Steering wheel behind the trim below the steering whell housing is the Wires and the ECU. I had to take of that trim to see the ECU Light. Find the Code Instructions from legacy777 ( Josh) It should give you detailed info. If you have trouble finding the wires let me know and I will cjeck it out when my wife gets back. Thanks
