Turboing a legacy

Turboing a legacy
Thats still cheaper than 32000 for a new STI...

EA82 running with no fuel pump
thats cool, i wish when my fuel pump died my legacy had kept running... but no, it definitely died on me... a strange phenomenon indeed... wish i had had that luck haha

Turboing a legacy
thanks, i kinda figured it be easier to drop one thats already turbo'd in. so any EJ engine will fit? so in theory... a new STI engine would fit? hmmmm the ultimate sleeper... muwhahaha

Turboing a legacy
Is it possible to put a turbo in a 93 legacy that didnt come with the turbo engine originally? if so, is it even worth the hassle? not that id actually do this anytime soon, but i was just curious. Would it be easier to find an old dead turbo engine and drop that in and put a nicer turbo in? (after I kill this engine... I plan on being the last person to ever own this car...)

highest milage
bleh forgot to mention, my old bimmer (1985 BMW 318i) had 208k on it before the odometer froze up, but saying it worked would be a stretch... it worked, so long as you jump started it... and you idled in the driveway for 10minutes before actually driving, parking brake on, in drive... on ebay it went... peice of ****...

Lift kits
ya your right, they are releasing one at some point, according to the F.A.Q. page. But on their third picture page, they show a lifted 90-92 (cant tell) legacy... is it possible to use the EA81 or 82 kit on a legacy?

highest milage
The site "subaru high mileage club" (http://hometown.aol.com/nv1z/subaruhighmileage.html?f=fs) has several with well over 300k miles on them. Pretty damn impressive... I've got a ways to go from 116k haha

Lift kits
Does anyone know of a lift kit available for a 93 legacy? The BYB lift kits dont seem to cover anything but the old EA models, and scorpion ones have to be shipped from australia... So does anyone know of any others? I'm new to the whole subaru thing, but so far I really like my car, much better than that stupid BMW i had before, and way better than the Ram I had before that. After finding this site, I really wanna lift mine, some of those look so bad rump roast, and it would certainly be a much better way to offroad than a freaking jeep... ok done babbling, thanks.

Roofracks
no, i dont have the factory roof rack...

Roofracks
Ok, I was looking in the photo gallery, and I noticed all of the cars with the light bar on top, and the basket up on top with the full size spare in it. Where can I find a basket like that, that might fit the top of a 93 subaru legacy. If so, how much do they usually run? Thanks.

Whining noise?
is it a loud whine? or a faint one? because my 93 legacy makes a whining noise in 1-3rd gears also... mine sounds like a turbo (cool sounding, but cant be good...) if thats the clutch bearing, how much does that usually cost to fix? or how difficult is it to do yourself?

Tightening the handbrake in a legacy
hmmm good point on the clutch not mattering... now to get some more cash so i can buy a stiffer sway bar or springs...

Tightening the handbrake in a legacy
I only do the turns with the clutch in, because I know how bad it is for permanent awd cars. I didn't know however that the parking brake was its own set of drums, I just check the back disc brake pads. Tho it does squeak sometimes now, so that might explain it (or its the dirt in the brakes... or its something completely different...) I approach the turn at whatever speed (60-70 is always fun but usually more in the 40-50mph range, I dont want to die young...) and then clutch in about 50 feet in front of the turn point, shift into 2nd or 3rd (depending on speed) rip the handbrake at the right time, and voila, the back end spins and halfway out, I rev it and drop the clutch. Real sharp turn, real fast... lots of fun. Always. And yes, power sliding is fun too haha Thanks for the information, now hopefully we can get this **** tightened up...
