  1. I'm removing the lift off a donor wagon to fit to mine. archemitis : what do you mean not legal ? TheSubaruJunkie : thanks, from what I can see it's a Scorpion Lift Kit. I just wanted to remove it and not redo the donor to standard. The donor will be going to the dump. Does anyone have the fitting instructions for the Scorpion Kit ? thanks
  2. I have just got a wagon MY83 with a 2" lift kit I need to remove. But I need to know where each piece is located. I can't seem to find detailed instructions showing which part is where !!! If anyone has detailed instruction sheet it will save me alot of headache.
  3. If anyone has pulled the EA81 and tranny through the engine bay with a hoist, please share your experience. cheers Paul
  4. so is it possible to pull the whole unit out through the engine bay ?
  5. Excellent....thanks for the write up It sounds like it might take awhile. If I was going to just replace Engine + Gearbox and add the lift kit, would it be easy to hoist both through the engine bay as one unit or seperate ? I have a hoist but I have no way of supporting the body to try what you describe. I just want to pull both units from each wagon and swap. And while my wagon is engine and gearbox less I thought I would do the lift ? I might have to get someone do this for me :-\
  6. Would you be able to elaborate on how this excatly is done. Please I have no idea how or where to start
  7. I asked this question a while back......I would love a copy. quombone@hotmail.com
  8. Sorry for my impatience I am just so keen to get going:banghead: didn't relize it was Sunday and a sport day. It's the whole engine + gear box that's coming out of the donor car 83Wagon into MY81Wagon. I'm replacing my worn-out EA81 S/R with the donors EA81 D/R. The whole Engine Gearbox pull sounds the way to go. Id like to hear from someone who's done this before. Thx edit Add: Can I pull the engine and gearbox as one through the engine bay or would it have to drop out ?
  9. Hi All, I have just got my donor car 83Wagon. I will be transfering the Engine Gear Box, maybe rear diff and the lifter kit to my other wagon. I am a total newbie at swapping major parts and would like some help on how to tackle the job. I have seen threads on engine and trans removal etc but not as a full job. Would it be a good time to do the lift kit when the engine and gearbox are out. In what order should I dismantle both wagons and then refit all bits ? Any help ....suggestions muchly apprecieated...
  10. I really have no idea but maybe the wiper motor is stuck ON! I saw those 2 wagons advertised....what condition are they in ? A good price is AUS for 2 lifted EA81 wagons
  11. Hi all, I live in Australia and have just purchased a reconditioned Weber Carb. I need to know where to buy the EA81 Adaptor/Conversion Kit. Happy to purchase OS but an Australian seller would be prefered. Any Ideas ? Cheers
  12. I took Turbone's advice and got the car running after the dist. was removed, but it seemed to be running rough. So I got a mechanic to take a look and get it running smooth, and it seems to be. BUT, the cable's from the dizzy to the plugs are now on opposite sides. Has he aboutfaced the whole dizzy, is this a problem ? I don't like this ! Do I take it back? EA81 81 Wagon
  13. I did a search of the board and came up nada! Obviously not a common engine.
  14. is there such an engine http://www.japparts.com.au/products/engines.html
  15. I have a EA81 81 Wagon, which I recieved minus air conditioning. Somebody must of ripped it out for another car.I have a couple of hoses and pipes sitting loose. What I need to know is, what parts do I need to replace ? Air Compressor and ??? and is there a pic anywhere of how it mounts ? I have googled with no luck. Thanks again Paul
  16. Your da man Quick reply, Quick fix, Excellent Thanks ......... On the road again
  17. Hi all, Because of a dodgy compressor install on the dissy my mate removed the distributor to remove the compressor, replaced it, and now we can't get the thing running again. We obviously rooted the timing... What do we do ??? 81 Wagon EA81 Engine / Carb Thanks
  18. The part number would be great.....Thanks
  19. Thanks guy's for the replies.........I forgot to mention that whenever the right side hits a hole or small bump there is a loose rattling sound coming from the right strut. Would this be hindering the steering ? What would this noise be generated from ? cheers
  20. With question 1, would it be the strut (front suspension mounts) or similar ? And I will try to remember to take it out of 4wd before hitting the black stuff
  21. 1/ When pulling into the driveway or driving slowly the steering is so bloody hard that my wife can hardly turn the thing. But ok at speed. I raised the front wheels off the ground and can hear a gradding noise when I turn the steering wheel. It seem's to be coming from the front shocks.....what problem would this be ? 2/ The other day I went from dirt to tar without taking it out of 4wd. I did a u-turn and the back wheels locked and I had to drap them behind me to complete the turn. It took a bit of fiddling to get the 4wd disengaged. What problem am I looking at here ? Many Thanks in advance Bro - Australia
  22. The year model is 1981 E81 wagon any sparkies know why the black and black/white have power but the blue and black that make it run have nothing ?
  23. I have run the wiper motor straight off the battery to check, and it works. When I metre read the 4 connectors that connect to the motor. Green, Blue, Black, Black w/White stripe. The 2 Blacks give a reading of 12v but when I use the battery to test, it's the Black and Blue that make the motor turn. Would this be faulty wiring or a faulty switch as the motor does work ? Also the washer motor is also not responding...In the fuse box there is one fuse labeled wiper so I assume that these are on the same curcuit ???
