Oil & Battery recommendation..
would like to watch out for sales and stuff on oil and was wondering what people used..i have an 89 wgn with the spi....use to run castrol in denver many years ago along with the factory filter...i have done a search and found a bunch of stuff relating to dino vs synthetic, but really not that much on brands within the dino line.... and, battery recommendations would be great also as i think i might need to replace mine in the very near future... thanx!

Detail shops/places around seattle?
ok, once the subie passes emissions i would like to have it detailed out...needs some kind of precleaner done along with the wash and wax etc...interior isnt too bad but the windows need help also...my garage here at the complex is pretty drafty so any kind of work done there will be very frosty, hence the need for a detail shop or person... reply here or to babylonfivefan@hotmail.com thanx alan

another failed emissions thread :D
well, the 89 spi wgn failed today, both tests, both are way too high...tailpipe is black so this would seem to indicate running rich and too much unburned fuel (see, i did do a search on this )....i have to get this thing to pass and pass quickly as my wife's job hours changed and now we have to do the carpool/bus ride thing and i still have about a 2 1/2 wait btwn the time i am done at work and when she can actually pick me up...so, time be important.. any tips? that stuff in a can seems to work according to what i read here in the archives and then there's that guy in s. seattle i guess but i really would like to pass on the retest and not have to pay the $15 again.. thanx! alan

would like to use the advice in the performance area of the ea82 mods and go to a turbo muffler or cherry bomb...22" extension pipe etc...but dont have a welder or the other tools necessary to do it was we moved here in july and are just renting and you know how complexe's are with their lists of what you can and cant do...plus, i am really a klutz unless i know EXACTLY what i am doing so, am willing to pay someone to do this work on my newly acquired 89 subie wagon...reply here or pm or to: babylonfivefan@hotmail.com thanx! alan

Answer needed asap on d/r swap!!
hidey ho as my other thread says in the marketplace forum i am looking for a 87-89 gl wagon with the d/r...well, they seem to be very hard to find at this time of year, so, have a line on a real nice 93 w/low miles and the pushbutton 4wd and was wondering how much it would cost to convert it to the d/r....if it is cost effective then i will probably buy it(pending driving it first of course ), so, an estimated cost and time would be greatly appreciated as i do not have a car and i need one for work... thanx! email me at babylonfivefan@hotmail.com or you can call me at 425-836-9613 this evening or any evening or tomorrow on my cell phone at 303-929-5044..colorado area code as i havent changed it yet... alan

Cleaning alloys...how?
okey doke..got some h style alloys and they need a good cleaning...(still need one by the way), i would guess the clearcoat is long gone and the guy i bought them from said to use steel wool on them...not sure but that sounds a little scratchy to me any tips/suggestions would be appreciated alan
