  1. Well, I was there but sat my lazyness off on the side of the track and just watched... had to take it all in. I would have stuck around and tried to meet some of you but I started to get a nice migraine and my meds were at home. I left right after the Audi did his roll-over trick:clap: Once I get my computer to work again I'll post up the video of the roll, unless someone else posts it before me. I got a few pictures but not very good ones as I was sitting a good distance away from the action.
  2. If I make the trip alone I'll be there bright and early... if my friend decides to go, then I'll be there a little later on but before the 11am registration time. Most likely it'll be the later of those two. I'll be coming prepared with helmets, camera(s) and too much excitement:banana: I'll be in a silver colored '90 wagon w/ rack on top. -Brett
  3. Looks slick! Nice work. Big question[drum roll]..... How much does it weigh??
  4. These guys are just North of the Seattle area, http://www.sn-fab.com/ They build mostly 4x's/crawler type rigs but I'm sure they'd be happy to make something for the Subaru owners too...as long as money is exchanged:D It's worth a call... their # is on the website.
  5. I made this swing-out tire carrier for my Toyota a while back, it's a bit different than building one for a subaru but still sort of the same. If you want round tube you'll need to find someone with a nice bender... want square than anyone with a chop saw and welder could fab it up for you. sorry about the size With subaru tires being so small it doesn't seem really nessary to have the tire hung outside like that unless you fill the inside with lots of crap:D I made it for my Toy since the 35"er wouldn't fit in the bed. But that subaru with the tire carrier does look slick!
  6. Naw... cost about $39 from the dealer. Has fixed the problem.
  7. So what time are you all going to be out there? Where is everyone coming from? Anyone want to caravan out with the newbie?? It looks like I'd be in the basic Production class which by looking at the website I would need to be at registration by 11am. I'll be heading out from Troutdale. So, what.. like hour drive for me? Any big tips you'd like to share? I feel pretty confident in driving and sliding a car around a track but I don't have much more than a week of driving the Subie under my belt yet... time to have fun I guess.
  8. Got the modification kit from Subaru today... installed it and haven't tested it out yet but feel pretty sure that it fixed the problem. I'll try to test later tonight maybe.
  9. Okay, I don't know much about it other than it's a '84, Turbo, Auto and looks to be in decent shape....I'd like to gain another Subaru but would like something with dual range yet with this being an auto it's single range. What do you think it's worth just by looking at the pictures?? I'm trying to see if the asking price is worth it just by looks alone:D
  10. Sweet thanks!!! This car never had it fixed. Thanks again.
  11. Okay... so I've had the '90 for about a week now, lovin' it! Yet I've only had one problem so far. I was getting onto the freeway and this particular on-ramp looped around before it merged with traffic... made a long right hand turn, just past 180*. As I began to straighten out on the freeway a big rump roast blue smoke cloud came out my tail pipe, thick enough that I couldn't see through it. It went away after a good 75-100 feet and the engine never gave me any problems when it happened...... What could be causing this?? I'm guessing that the PCV valve might be at fault but since I know very little about these engines I'm asking for some help from those who know. This is the only problem I've incountered so far and I've put a good 220 miles on it... I'm workin' on making the Hood River event so I can meet you all.
  12. This is still a go right? I'm trying to work it right with the wife so I can go... and test out the '90, see how good I think I am:clap: I figure, why not add another novice rallycross driver to the mix.
  13. The Barlow Road really isn't much to fear if you've never traveled it before. It's fairly uneventfull untill you reach the lower areas, White River Crossing to Rock Creek area... This is where it starts to get a little more exciting, especially after it has rained a few times on that side of "the hill". There's also the WRGMA(White River Game Management Area) to cruise around. When dry it's just dirt roads with ruts..after it rains it's just slick dirt(mud) with ruts and mini mud holes, perfect for Subarus to splash through.
