  1. Here you go... some home-built ones. It can be done! http://www.kyrias.com/deepmud/trax.html
  2. He's asking $300... Here's what he posted to our group, Anybody need a nitrous kit? $300... adjustable 100-175hp fits 4bbl spreadbore carbs If you want more info let me know....
  3. Okay, not going to do it but......... a guy in my 4x club just sold off his highly built chev 350 engine with everything minus his NOS kit. I was wondering how long my SPFI engine would last on some NOS? I think he had it jetted for 100-125 hp increase:burnout: If he doesn't sell the kit I think he's going to go rent a Neon, tap it in and take it to the drag.
  4. Lets go! We could make it an official USMB test. BUT everything else would need to be setup similar though, tire size, gear ratios, exhaust size, etc..... all though, I'm willing to do reguardless!
  5. Another thing to think about is how does one drive a car? Are you shifting fast enough and or at the best rpm range? The cars might be setup differently and one may have more power(hp and/or torque) than the other but it's really up to the driver on how fast it is. I'm fairly confident that I could get my SPFI '90 to be faster than a similar setup weber car..... I think.
  6. Daym man.... Your car is just sweet. You know, it's not often that my wife will like the same thing as me, especially when it comes to cars BUT she really likes yours. She even said that we should make our car look similar. Just need to gather up parts and extra cash to get parts. Yeah... once I figure out when I'll be going through I'll try to get ahold of you to take a look at yer ride.
  7. TOP I'd like to know where else one could get a body kit other than hunting down an RX for one???
  8. No need to wait... I got connections in the GP/Cave Junction area FS folks. Plus there are not many trees left around the trail to worry much about what the OOHVA website makes you worry about. The trail is pretty much year round, unless the snow is too deep. The trail isn't hard, one of the times we went we were woken up at 7:30am when this POS old ford came past our campsite running on itty-bitty 225's... for a mid-'70s ford that's tiny. Adam.... Have you ever taken your subarus out to the White ****ty ponds, that is before they gated it shut?? Done that a few times at night when things got dull. Yeah, that whole Southern Oregon area is good wheelin' for Soobs, it's once you build something big is when you start to run out of place to go..... I was in touch with the FS persons at the Ashland location off and on for our club, they showed us where it's legal and not legal to go as far as areas East of Ashland. I know of some good spots out that way, might be on the dificult level for a subaru though. The K-Falls Sportsman park would be a good place to hold a get together for a bunch of us subaru guys. Our club was going to hold a mini top truck challenge there but we moved it onto a members property instead, much larger area.... with 200 plus people and about 80 rigs you need lots of room to romp! Damn.... I'm missing that area even more now. I've tried to convice the wife to move back but no go yet...... I'd like to move back and have my old job back too but get paid more $$$. Wow, I typed too much:slobber:
  9. Is this a recent picture? If it is then daym! There be snow on the ground and trees already missing leaves! I can't wait for those cold crisp sunny winter days! Good pics too:D
  10. For some general info on the McGrew, http://www.oohva.org/ohv%20area%20pages/mcgrewtrail.html After last years big fire.... the trail isn't the same though. I've heard that it's pretty much an easy path now. The fire crews had to plow through some spots but the good areas were not harmed to badly. How about you guys give me a date on when you'd like to run it and I'll get in touch with my "boyz" down that way and see what the deal is on the trail, open, not open or what.... I'm sure I could get a few(dozen) or so bigger wheelers to tag along for added fun too:brow: Just let me know...... I'll dig through my pictures later tonight and post up some of the trail, I'll start a new thread in the "meet & greet" section for it.
  11. He's in Bend right? I do have to go visit the folks in Gilchrist in a couple weeks... I go right through Bend on my way there :-\
  12. And me dragging the Toy over it back in May '02... when it looked pretty. Thread hijacking is done now.
  13. Now... Since I lived in the Southern Oregon area for a few years and did some of wheeling there......... a question for you guys down that way since this is here... Have you guys ran the McGrew yet in the Subarus? I've done it a few times in my Toyota which didn't leave much fun to be had other than the rock gardens. We dragged and pushed a stock Sami through most of it with out problems so I figure a Subaru could tackle it without many problems. I bet a subaru could get over this rock near the start too, really I think it could happen.
  14. I have been wondering about body kits as well lately, just haven't posted the question yet.... Doesn't Subaru_styles have one on his car? About the intake thing.... I made my own as I already had the goods to make it fit. Total cost was about $15 for the filter. As I stated in another post about this, It feels WAY better than the stock air box... and even better than the modified(drilled out) air box that it replaces. Sounds really good above 4K. Gets the honda crowd to turn to look and the Subaru passing them
  15. I think it's just time to move! Here in Oregon there's pretty much no rules to lifting a rig.... other than that 52" headlight limit and sometimes you need mud flaps if you're over the 20" limit behind the tires.
  16. It looks similar to a 1st gen Runner roll/bed bar.... mostly for looks OR In the picture I attached can be used to hang your tail lights while driving on the highway to the 'Con... June '02 our Rubicon run.
  17. So did it actually roll or just flop? Sounds like a decent flop.... Need pics. I need a new background on my pc and a flopped over Subaru would work quite nicely:D
  18. Thanks for the suggestions and comments so far... keep 'em coming! When we had our Honda I swapped on my sisters old snow tires. After popping out the bazillion studs I had an agressive tire, seemed to work well but after 5K miles I noticed some tread loss already. <-- This was my main concern for finding some agressive snow tires.... are there some brands with a harder compound than others? I probably won't get them through Schwabs.... I'll go through my work instead, only if it's cheaper. Road noise isn't a big deal to me..... remember I'm making the transition from the wheelin'/crawling world of Toyota and Heeps to the Subaru life. Keep the info coming.
  19. Okay... I need tires for the car and I know next to nothing about tires for cars. The car sees lots of pavement and that wet type of pavement that the PNW is known for and some gravel roads. Suggestions?? I'll also be needing these to fit my little 13"ers.
  20. Ahhh.... Zuks and Roos wheelin' in harmony:D Great pics!
  21. I'm sorry I missed it too. Either my alarm clock didn't go off or I slept through it:( I woke up at 8:45... crawled outta bed at 9:30. Next time...really.
  22. I should be there... this time actualy meet and talk with you guys.
  23. Well, been away from the computer for a bit... I actually don't have one right now:( Should have it back by tomorrow or friday. Anyway... I got my air intake finished, mostly. I still need to re-do the bracket that holds the filter up 'cause the one that's on there wants to pull it away from the engine and push the filter into the fender. Total cost was about $15 for the filter. I already had the nuts, bolts, washers, aluminum plate and little aluminim tube. It feels WAY better than the stock air box... and even better than the modified(drilled) air box that it replaces. Sounds really good above 4K. Gets the honda crowd to turn to look and the Subaru passing them Picture is attached.
  24. Alright... So what's the skinny on drilling out the 6-lug wheels to fit the 4-lug Subaru bolt pattern?? I've got easy access to plenty of 6-lug Toyota wheels(larger center hole than chevy 6-lug).... who's got the details PLUS pictures on doing this?!?!?
  25. I've got more but those 2 show dirt flying.... I'll look at teh others and see what I have. I'll post more if you'd like.
