  1. I average around 21 to 23 mpg and I run between 65 and 70 mph. Seafoam is a brand name of an additive that you add to your fuel or directly to your crankcase to clean the internals of your fuel system or your engine. I have never used it so I'm no expert but there are a lot of different opinions on the product when I read up on it.
  2. You know I just picked up a tap and die set at an estate sale just two days ago. I looked at it and thought, "you know some day I may need that" lol. I was going to tap it last night (the exhaust for you dirty minded folks) but it was getting dark, the exhaust pipe was interfering with my T handle, and I was annoyed so I gave up for now. Thanks for giving me the sizes to use that was another hang up for me.
  3. Well I hate not having things proper lol so I will look into the helicoil set. But for the next couple weeks it's just gonna have to leak a little
  4. Seems like a pain in the @55. I can only hear a slight leak from it and it's not like my sube is that quiet anyway lol
  5. Ea82 had a missing nut on the driver side exhaust flange at the head. I put a new nut on it and go to tighten it and find out that the threads in the head for the stud are stripped. Opinions on jb weld to fix this problem or anybody have a similar situation? I really don't want to get into drilling and tapping and all that jazz.
  6. Good idea on borrowing the 36mm socket. I should just buy one to add to my collection. I did lube the pins when I did the brakes. My power steering fluid was low so that is topped off now. I really don't think the sound was coming from the steering pump. I guess I'll wait to see if it happens again and try to pinpoint it.
  7. I just drove around a few minutes ago and the noise was gone. It did only make the noise while I was moving. I have noticed it before on sharp fast right hand turns but it goes away almost immediately and it seems to be concentrated to the right rear tire area. However today it didn't go away (until now) and it was difficult to pin point where exactly the noise was coming from. What does it sound like when an axel or bearings go out? Also I did a brake job about 1,000 miles ago I'm wondering if maybe I didn't get an axel nut on tight enough? All I had to tighten them was a 12" crescent wrench and my 240lb body standing on it to "torque" them down.
  8. This morning I made an abrupt right hand turn into work this morning and this odd whining noise started. At first I thought it was coming from the rear right tire area but as I continued to pull into the parking lot it sounded as if it was coming from under the hood or front right tire area. I didn't notice it happening more or less if I turned to one side or went straight. I believe this is a constant sound picking up noise under load. The sound reminds me of a belt rubbing against plastic or maybe a power steering pump going bad. I was only able to drive it a few hundred yards from the entrance to the parking spot so I couldn't really listen for very long. I opened the hood to listen and I didn't notice the noise at an idle. Anyone have some ideas on what could cause that type of noise after a abrupt sharp right hand turn? ea82 3at awd 1993 Loyale
  9. For some reason my computer won't let me "Quote" Not sure if I need to change settings on here or what? Anyway, I75eya No worries on jacking the thread I'm not offended it was an interesting photo
  10. I'm interested in seeing if it stays quiet too. I haven't done anything to the can towers. I will on my next timing belt change.
  11. For sure! What rpms are you running with the 5 spd?
  12. Thought I would do an update. I changed my oil yesterday and elected to use Valvoline High Mileage Synthetic Blend 10w-40. I drove it to work this morning at about 70mph @4100rpms and no TOD as of yet. Before, that little ea82 would be ticking for sure! Thanks for the advise everybody.
  13. I'm not so sure it is the neutral switch anymore. From what I read on here it makes sense that it is the ignition switch. I may eventually end up doing what you did just so I won't have to push the override button to shift into gear. Thanks for the tip.
  14. Ok I think I'm starting to understand what you're talking about. 1 question though, doesn't the ignition switch have a "dead spot" that wouldn't send power to the bypass circuit just like it is doing now to the starter solenoid? Thanks for finding the link for me.
  15. Thanks I75eya. I looked up replacing the ignition switch from my manual. It is very straight forward I just need to order the part for a damn $45! I couldn't really understand how to bypass it from what I found searching in other posts on here
  16. This morning when I went to start my 93 loyale 1.8 at it sounded like the starter was stuck. The battery is fully charged. This afternoon I go to start it and it fires right up no problem. Sometimes I have to push the shifter up into park a little bit to get the neutral switch to engage. I did that this morning and nothing. I put the shifter in neutral and nothing. Is the starter going out or possibly the neutral switch?
  17. Made the mistake of ordering 2wd brake drums online. Now it will cost me $54 to ship them back for a $60 credit. So anyone in the Willamette Valley need these? I'll take $40 for the pair.
  18. I cannot get this damn thing off!! I bought a 2' breaker bar and still couldn't get it. I even took an impac wrench to it(I know not wise) and nothing. I've sprayed some Free All and used a jack to lift the breaker bar too. No luck, I guess I need to put some heat to it. Any suggestions?
