this is how i bought it, has the normal rust. has a few missing parts, the camo paint will be replaced with the factory white. plans are a bigger motor and dual range trans, bigger tires.. maybe have a desert race look.

while installing the correct air cleaner, i found this port which had a small aftermarket filter clamped to it.theres a port under the aircleaner i believe it goes to. is there anything else it hooks to?

ok here it is in all its glory ,,after everything is working ,im going to repaint it back to its original white,

i've had the car just under a week, this thing is a hoot!!!.its much easier to work on than i had expected,BUT parts are a lot harder to find then any car ive ever owned..that includes my 1951 henry j (only made for 3 years) ,while driving ive been watching for other subaru's ,there just aren't a lot around here.the dealership doesnt have listings for cars back to 79..the local import parts store doesnt keep much in stock ,but can order it..their price was twice as high as the autozone part.(trans mount). im guessing they came from the same place.. this place is a wealth of info ,thank you for that!! the most common response i get is laughter from parts counter guys,, i get a lot of thumbs up from people at intersections. a few "what is that" from people in parking lots... over all the people who know what it is all have interesting stories about someones second cousins half sisters best friend having one and how cool it was.. im hoping to post some pics tomorrow after a salvage yard crawl..

looks like im not gonna need one,,i located the previous owner ,he gave me the air cleaner,glove box,camper, new brake pads a gallon of trans fluid and a box of random pieces.

didnt think id see a dragweek thread on this site, i drive the rusty mad irishman henry j gasser. this was my 4th dragweek , 2011-12 i drove a silver 53 ford gasser , the henry j was 2013-14..

mine is missing someone put a small universal cleaner on the carb and pvc style filters on the valve covers..doesnt work or look very good...

my dads step brother took me for a ride in his brat close to 35 years ago..i wanted one every since.. i finally got one.. a little about me.. i drag race a 51 henry j gasser , offroad race a rock buggy, and hunt&fish.. my brat needs alot of TLC ,its missing a few parts and has some strange noises..hope to find some parts and info..
