  2. Hello my friends, today I was able to run the machine for a couple hours. It had some disturbing valve, lifter nois up unroll I refired, all was quite, I am thrilled with how it sounds. The 2 barrel Rochester seems tuneable, just might need a good carb person to help get it there. I haven't driven yet, just making sure all is good. I hope the hot water bypass will stand up in time. For now it looked good, ran it at set RPMs for a couple hours, no sights of leaks, so excited about it, I over analyzed fuel issue, but I learned New things. Peace my friends
  3. I did a bench test on the pump, it makes one pump (squirt) and only hums, did it a few times and same result. My guess is the pump is bad. Also I was testing the wiring by myself, might explain why I thought no power, it probably already shut off by the time I got to it.
  4. I'm thankful for all your input, been busy with family hence no reply till now, also just got factory manuels off CL, so now we will find the issue. I hope, these are very indepth, Thanks guys ????
  5. Hi folks, I'm working on a 85 GL, got the car this spring with engine disassembled. I got the rebuilt one in, I did however do away with the Hitachi carburetor. The issue now is fuel pump is not getting power, did I interrupt a important connection with the carb feed back some how? I tried with plugging in connectors on carb, still no energy. Fuse is good, not sure what relay controls fuel pump control. ????
  6. I just pulled the original engine today, got a few little change outs yet, I hope to have rebuilt in tomorrow, I didn't have to make any changes in brackets, I did forget to remove .4 off the alternater bolt hole on top of intake, lol, I think it will all work, Thank you for confidence☺
  7. Newbie with EA 82, intake I am a humble person, I only want input, and outlook, I'm not trying to reinvent the dynamyics of internal combustion.I hope that what I made will be a part of inguinty, Thanks for looking????
  8. I guess I Don't know how, I will figure out how tho, soon

  11. Thank you, I will see if I can find that online just to see.
  12. Hi, I recently have been making some changes to the intake of a carbureted model and was wondering if anyone has tried this. I made 1" adapter plates that attach to the head and intake, as well as a thermostat housing so I can get the hot water away from the air chamber. What started this was changing out the Hitachi carburetor. I'm not trying to gain HP or torque, I'm just sure it will increase full economy. At least that is what I'm going for. I'm wondering if it has been done and had these results. Thank you.
  13. Hi folks, I picked up my first Subi earlier this year, its a 85 GL wagon. When I seen it I couldn't leave it behind. I will be on here often for guidance , lol.
  14. I have recently retired a craptachi for a Weber, I did have to make some modifications for the intake as well as water bypass, basically, I cut the thermostat housing out and made a new one from 1.5" aluminum, then made adapters for the head to intake to rout water out of intake, made plates to seal ports for EGR and exhaust inlet tube. I will post when I get it finished. All this so I can use good carburetor, lol . Later
