Anyone in Seattle rebuild EA82 motors. I could probably do it myself but I just don't have the tools to take care of it.

Good idea!! I already have the water weinie straped to my roof rack!

It was a little sluggish on the way home from where it happened. I couldn't leave it there or some bum would have *************** in the thing. But it was only about 2 mi. I drove it easy. Changed the air filter, engine and tranny oil. The diff will be changed tomorrow. And the interior is all cleaned and will be dry tomorrow morning. There was about 5 lbs of mud in my carpet. The empty beer can floating in the back seat floor was quite a site this morning. But once all the fluids were changed I took it for a little test drive. I would say the cup of bolts and screws that flew all the way to the back, from the dash, says that its running fine. I think it will be fine if not woopie another couple hundo for a used motor.

I sunk my car up to the seats. Got it running but the oil pressure is a little high. I believe that water may have some how got into the oil. I will change the oil today. I was wondering if I should change the tranny and the rearend oil aswell. I don't know about venting tubes or other ways water may have goten in anywhere else. Any advise from experience???

Well I just got finished with my FI conversion on my 87gl last weekend. So fri night I thought I would go out with my buddies and go to our little 4X spot lite a fire and have some beers. I had 3 passengers in my car and we were cruzing all over. The new FI kicks a$$ All of the steep hills that my car would dog with one passenger it flew up with three. Anyway it hasn't been raining around here very much so I assumed the puddles were all shallow enough to go through. So... I attempted one thinking.... Woops... I new I wasn't doing so well when there was a Tital wave over my windshield. Instantly the car hydralocked and died. Metalica was playing on the stereo as the inside of the car filled up with water. Then the guy behind me wispers to the other guy sitting next to him "my seat is under water". I could feel my feet getting wet so we all climbed out the windows sat on the roof and had some beers and waited for Gunslinger. Gunslinger, was on the way out to meet us and he stopped by our local autoparts store and bought another tow strap cause we forgot one. And of course a camera to photograph my shame. Well I was watching the water fill up on the inside up to about a inch below the fuse box. And a couple below the computer. One of my buddie lost at rock paper sicsors and so he had to go swiming. Got er pulled out ,pulled the plugs dried the disti some cranking, towed the car so the nose was uphill (to let the water drain out of the exhaust). Did some more cranking, she finaly started just before the bat died. Needless to say the bonfire idea was out. I hate puddles. I never liked them. I dont mind the small ones that are here and there. But the ones big enough to stock with rainbow trout I don't like. Thank God I have a carpet cleaning company, I do flood restoration also. Didn't think my soob was going to need it ever. Well that was my fri night.

Do I attempt to change them myself or pay someone to do the nasty deed.

My FI converson runs

Isn't the plug that is right above the tranny the nuteral switch plug? Could I make a loop there then reset everything? -

Ok i figured out the rough idling part. It turns out the spark plug wire was on but not snaped in. For those thinking about this converson my car with SPFI was just as powerful as my carb only running on 3 clynders. Let that soak in. Yes it hauls, for a lil subie anyway. (Not quite like my 5.0) The air fuel mixture screw is beyond me I couldn't find in the manual where it decribes what to look for in adjusting it. And the CEL, where do I start to work on that. -

I probably need a timming light for that? The idle screw.... what am I looking for when I adjust it. Never done that before Check engine light? I heard of people doing something to get codes?? Is that something I need to do. It runs and drives. Is there something that I need to do with the nuteral and starter switch thing. -
Sorry to all the people that I harrased about my converson. I just got the dash harness and pluged it right in. Varooom. But it needs some tuning, the check engine light is on and it feels real sluggish off of the line and shakes the whole car when its idleing. Any thoughts.

Does anybody buy lifts. They don't seem that hard to fabricate. But they aren't that expencive. Then for wheels do you convert to six lug rims.... what tires fit...?
