  1. There are special tools to remove oil seals but i never used them myself. They are easy to remove using a small screwdriver and going in between shaft surface and seal. Be careful not to damage the shaft surface and clean the surface using very fine water sandpaper (used by bodywork repair) and penetrating oil instead of water. Putt simple bearing grease to the shaft and to the new seals to putt them in place. The seals you need are, Part # 806 733 010 oil seal crankshaft & oil pump, measures in mm. 33x49x8. Part # 806 732 150 (2x) oil seals camshafts measures in mm. 32x45x8 On top of the left (driver side LH drive) camshaft there is a housing (3 bolts to remove) with a O ring, i always replace that to, Part # 806 946 030, measures are 46.5x2mm. Tightening torque crankshaft pully bolt = 103 -118 N-M / 10.5 - 12.0 kgm. Good luck. Urban.
  2. T belts from Legacy are very reliable. Slipping over is mostly caused by the rubber gaskets that are between the central part of the belt cover and the engine. Because of oil leak and/or cleaning the engine with degreaser the rubber gasket is swelling and pops out from between the cover, comes between belt and pullys and so the belt slips over. Removing the crank pullys mostly give no problem, surtainly not now as in an other post you said you replaced the T belt recently. Urban.
  3. Legacy '91 is a no interference engine. As you say there is spark and feul, place a new T belt and tensioner, check all the bearings (don't forget to check the waterpump) and replace the oil leacking seals and your engine will run as fine as it was before. Urban.
  4. Do you mean the copper bushing in the bottom of the dist. housing? I went to a auto electricity shop, they are specialised in repairs of starters, alternators etc. They have many different bushings and if necessary they can putt it in a lathe and make it fit. If you can't find a solusion i could order some and ship them to you in a post packet. (From Flanders-Belgium) Can't be very expencive i guess. Urban.
  5. If Left hand drive, its located under the dash, high in the left corner above the fuse box. The color is brown and there are 6 whires plugged in. There is a yellow sticker on one side with the part number 25229AA000. Urban.
  6. I live in Flanders, Belgium. The choke valve opens about half way the moment you accelerate and at that moment the trottle valve closes to far so the engine stalls. Choke housings from Justy, as far as i know are mounted with 3 rivets, no screws, and are not adjustable. (I tried that myself to you see, didn't work :-) Sometimes the problem is there because the outside temperature is not warm enough to idle whitout choke and not cold enough for the choke valve to stay colsed long enough. Maybe, once it get colder the problem will stop by itself. Urban.
  7. Hello Flavio! I guess in Europe the best places to be for conversion to LPG are Holland and Belgium. Subaru allways was the best car for conversion to LPG and i have known al lot Sube's with over 500K Km. on LPG. I'm a little older now and don't follow the latest evolutions any more but i know they are in constant developement and progress. If i 'm well informed the average price for compleet installation (latest electronic controlled LPG injection system) is about 2000 euro. If you want me to i'll send some adresses and/or contact persons. My E mail is tolerance-1@skynet.be Urban.
  8. Catalic converter yes. As i said, i was in a hurry and the correct english name for it wouldn't occur. No, not all subaru's do have a cat. (in my country Justy came with cat in 1991) and that makes a difference about adjustement. In fact you can't adjust the choke itself, all you can do is cleaning the mechanism that connects the choke handles to the trottle handles. I use brake cleaner for that and than spray a very thin oil or penetrating oil to all connections, small axles, springs etc. You can adjust the 'idle up' (trottle position with cold engine) with a screw that is located on the left side of the carb. near the trottle valve. The position of that screw is horisontally and points from the back to the front. It's very hard to reach, even hard to find but this screw must be turned clockwise so the rev's will be higher when the choke valve is closed (cold engine). Adjusting this is supposed to happen with the carburater removed from the car but it is possible (not easy) on the car to. Urban.
  9. I am to busy at the moment to help. I'll be back later. Therefor one question now. Is there a catalisator or not? Urban.
  10. I fully agree with Theotherskip. If a 4wd MT shouldn't be towed with 4 wheels on the ground wat's the difference with going down a long decent? Better with 4 wheels On the ground than 2 wheels Off the ground and unable to turn. OK, in case of AT the engine should run. Urban.
  11. The problem as described is very common with Legacys of those years. If you are able to remove the inner trimm panel and the inner lock button/door handle unit it's easy to repair and becomes more solid than a new one and with no cost at all. On the back side of the unit there is a square hole in the black plastic mounting plate. Near that hole, between the plate and the lock button a plastic hook is broken so the spring that should be hoocked in there now pushes inside against the lock button. Take a small peace of metal whire and make it in a U form with an outward hook on each end. Putt the U in the square hole so that the hooks are holding it at the edge of the square hole to prevent the spring to pull the U to the inside. Now take an other, longer metal wire and make a small hook on one end. Also through the square hole 'fish up' the spring. Pull the spring toward the U and hook it up. Fixed. Once the spring is hooked up in the U the lock button is no longer pushed one way or the other, it now kan be moved free toward lock or unlock position. Luck, Urban.
  12. This may seem a strange question but, what is the outside temperture in your region and at the moments the problem occures? By Justy it's very important that the heat riser (the pipe that connects the exhaust collector to the air filter) is intact by humid climate and temperatures arround or below +5° C. If not, there will be icing in the carb. ventury. The moment the engine stops the cold air flow stops and the heat will melt it down immediatly so the engine starts again. As you say, this will not happen by short distances and around town because there is no constant high air flow as there is on the freeway. Urban.
