  1. just over 200000, I did a grease jump no the driver side rear last year after the inner seal blew.
  2. Well I have read the previous posts about this, but it doesn't answer me. I have an 85 GL wagon 4wd. Well a little bit ago, an knock/bump became hearable in the rear end. This knock will stay constant with speed. I jacked the rear up and spun the tires and close to the rear passenger was the source...kinda. I took out the cv on that side and took it for a drive. The knock quit, until I turned right then it bumped again. It doesn't knock when driving with the shaft out, only on turns. I reinstalled the CV but backwards this time and the knock is still there, but very faint. Could this be my wheel bearings? I also shook the tire and it was tight not loose. I'm a bit confused any help would help. Kind regards, Dan
  3. Great job on that, its both beauty and beast. Its a great thing ya done to help, we need more people like yourself. Best wishes to you and yer wife.
  4. That would be worth while. Any idea on when it'll come out?
  5. Yeah, when I blew out the lines, I also filled the struts individually, and they seemed to have held the air. Just the height control is not working.
  6. How do you tell if your EA82 has solid or Hydro lifters? I'm about to do a rebuild and would like to know what they are before hand. Any info helps.
  7. Recently I purchased a 91' Legacy wagon for $400. Driving it down the road, the car bounces like a super ball. When i got it home I noticed the suspension was dead. If i hit the button, the light flashes and the air pump runs... but the suspension does not fill. Took the system apart and blew all the lines out. The pump puts out little air, is this normal? I'm new to the pneumatic suspension and could us a tip or two.
  8. This 85 came from Hawaii with its original owners. They used it as a daily rig, and beach cruiser. They moved to California and after a bit, this ride became mine. When I saw her on Craigslist for sale I knew I had to have her. She had been well taken care of, only things wrong when I bought it was front oil seals, tie rods, and few other things that needed service. This car runs great, but has lost power over the years from old age. Its scheduled for the an overhaul her soon. I paid $1100 for her and drove 300 miles to get her. Best investment yet . Moved from Cali, She now drives around in Idaho.
  9. Ok yeah I'm still running stock for now, but I use her for offroading ever now and then. She'll go places like she is, but when I get stuck (rarely) both wheels could be useful haha.
  10. Yeah she is a daily driver, so i would probably have to do that. Or i might just convert to a bigger diff compatible with a locker.
  11. I'll definitely look into it. I might go to the junk yard and try to pull a diff so ill have one to play with.
  12. Ok, I checked and its an open diff. Will welding the diff cause any problems later down the road?
  13. I understand. I will need to look at my diff closer before i proceed. I was told it was an LSD, but it acts like a open... so i will have to see for my self
  14. A Locker, is a manual way to engage both wheels to spin when only one wants to, possitrac keeps both wheels spinning at all times with no need for a locker.Open diff or standard diff, in the case of being stuck in the mud, gives 100% power to wheel with least resistance (the wheel with the least traction), LSD is the opposite and gives the majority (not complete 100% power) to the wheel with best traction. LSD tries to control the rotational speed of each wheel, while an open does not.
  15. Its a limited slip differential. Meaning that if your tires are loosing traction, then all the power is transferred to the wheel with best traction. For example; if your have ever been stuck in the mud, and notice the one wheel spinning that has the most bite, that is the LSD at play.
  16. I think its an LSD, but not for certain. I would have to look at it more closely then decide what I will do. If it is an LSD, then like you said ill trade it out for an open.
