  1. Got my keyless entry and remote start wired up and done also got some side markers finally!
  2. I cut out the stock plug for the loyale lights and ran the plugs for the duals. Took me a minute to remember they're a negative trigger setup but everything is wired in as if it was a DL now
  3. I fixed them. Idk what the hell I did that fixer it but i cut open my harness and went through that side and now they're fine. So must have had a bad crimp or something idk
  4. And I popped the cover and they looked fine but I'll see if any feel loose
  5. Hey guys, so long story short my headlights decided to tweak out on me. Passenger low beam just doesn't work, fuses good, light itself good (I seitch Ed sides and stayed the same). So I went deeper, since I did the conversion to dl lights I thought maybe I fudged up so I undid my electrical tape and checked all my wiring and it was fine no cut wires or anything, so I cut the harness up a little and got the crimps out of the way and still nothing, now I haven't tested for whether I'm missing power or ground but I'm guessing ground, here's why, when I turn on my high beams BOTH passenger lights turn on and then the driver HIGH BEAM but them the driver LOW BEAM that previously worked shuts off. So it's like the combination switch blew out a connection for the low beam ground on the passenger side or something? Thanks everyone
  6. Only car I've had an alternator go out on was my loyale lol and that was before I got it, drove it home on just a battery 100 miles. Ran out of juice as I got into town and swapped to another I brought (and this was at night so had the headlights on lol) and I'll definitely do the orings then probably the same time I do the clutch.
  7. I'm gonna do a timing belt component kit, plugs, wires, fuel filter, already changed the oil and ran some marvel mystery oil with it which quieted the lifters up a lot, I'm very strict with oil changes on my cars we've put a few engines in subarus at the shops in roos run out of oil lol and are the alternators common on the 2.2s?
  8. Hey guys, for anyone that doesn't venture into the loyale section I own a 92 loyale wagon that's lifted and all that jazz named Trailbaru. I've been dailying an 04 golf for about a year and I don't enjoy it much anymore. I picked up a pretty decent condition 96 legacy outback 5 speed, 2.2. Now I work on a Lot of subarus so I know most of the issues to look for (leaky head gaskets, check timing belt service records, how much oil it burns, etc etc) This car has 233k miles, which is above what I wanted but I can track down a much lower mileage 2.2 pretty easy. Trans shifts good, engine sounds good (gets a lifter tick on the passenger side from time to time but it's real quiet) this car has the dryest subaru engine I've EVER seen. The only oil underneath the car is from the oil filler neck that just barely leaks. Other than that it's dry as a bone under that car. Kicker with this car is it needs a clutch, which I'll do next week when I get back from vacation. Basically I want to know if there is anything specific to look out for on these particular roos that aren't as prevalent in the others? Sorry for the long post guys.
  9. Look for tears in the rack boots. They're just dust covers so make sure there is NO fluid leaking out. It's nice if the inner rods are stiff but off a parts car I doubt it. Floppy will still be fine. Really just make sure nothing leaks.
  10. I've had my permatorque up to 260 a couple and 240 cruising a few more times and it still runs like a champ, no coolant loss whatsoever.
  11. Was able to get the grille off unharmed got the hood open. Thank you! Cable failed and pulled through itself. Fun fun
  12. It feels like my cable came out from the release. If the handle just broke I'd be fine to just grab the cable, but the whole handle came with the cable out onto the floor almost.
  13. Oil leaking everywhere when driving, smoke pouring from the car by the time I stop. I know where it's coming from and the motor needs to come out anyways, but hood release decided to come apart this morning so how do I pop the hood?
  14. I never knew that about the map light wires, I did the same as you I cut the plug out of the junkyard car and just made the wiring and plugged it all in good as new
  15. If I had the patience I'd track down a moon roof and fit it to the car. When camping I mainly sleep inside the hatch and it would be cool to be able to see up.
  16. I have the map lights and the D/R sadly not the moon roof though lol. The loyale has the mounting spots for everything the gl has, including rear speaker spaces just no wiring.
  17. Hey guys so long time problem of the turd is that my auto belt on my driver side doesn't always open. It's like the button is stuck kinda like when my interior lights mess up and I gotta clean the door button a little. Well the switch doesn't go off the same button. So where is all that stuff for it?
