  1. Unless someone comes in and calls bull, I'm gonna drop my crossmember tonight real quick along with tranny crossmember and see how it goes I guess
  2. So we should be able to drop the xmember without the knuckle?
  3. On a 2 inch lift for a 1-1.5 inch xmember drop do we have to use the legacy steering piece? I actuslly just put a steering rack in my car and to adjust my steering wheel I had to lower my xmember to get enough room to get the knuckle out but even then I had to slide it and could bolt it in place before lifting the xmember back up(had it all the way to the face of the nut and stud flush on both nuts). So my question is am I missing something? Is my car going to self destruct if I drop the xmember and not use the legacy steering section? More than likely I worry about it causing added stress to the steering rack but could it be lowered and driven until I acquire one?
  4. You bought an ea one? Where from? I tend to use orielly or "first call" their commercial side before anything else and try to stay semi loyal to them lol.
  5. Hm I can get a new one from orielly for only 140$ through my discount might be worth it and maybe rebuild my stock and just eat the core charge. Or turn mine in and get one that doesn't look bad from a junkyarf and try going through it then.
  6. That's my other option if I don't upgrade but if it's easy I figure why not lol. BTW I follow you on Instagram love your car
  7. Hey guys, I've done some research on this looking for options of ej racks swapped into the ea cars. Basically my stock rack is done, internal seals leak so bad it just fills the boot and then pees everywhere. I'd like to upgrade to an ej rack if possible and I've seen it done but no thorough write ups. What exactly needs to be done?
  8. I might do that later but I ended up finishing the swap already, bended my hard lines and everything works great. Took a lot of bleeding but stops much better. Rear driver drum was filled with fluid lol
  9. OK cool, was worried about doing my rear wheel bearings (one hell of a nasty squeek coming from them) and then having to change them anyways when I did the swap thank you
  10. Hey guys so my 92 loyale I wanna put rear discs off a turbo awd gl I found in the junkyard. All I need is the hub and calipers right? And back plates? I'm going to buy new rotors and pads. Another question is I'd the rear wheel bearings different than the rears in the stock drum setup? Like is the rear on the discs the same as the front?
  11. Oh hey this is an ea81 thread lol disregard my comments I'm stupid. Not sure if they work on ea81s
  12. So I think I'm gonna order the silicone boots on thursday, along with use some of my sheet metal to make a heat shield. I noticed I have nothing and since the only difference between left and right I'd thst the right has a cat. So as someone suggested I'm going to just put some sheet metal in as a heat shield. Also I drove about 45 miles from my old house to my new house and didn't get the usual overwhelming smoke and smell of axle grease, now I haven't confirmed it, but I think that boot may have survive the trip. I did however put a brand new axle in minutes befor I made the drive. So I think the heat, along with a bad batch of axles, along with the crappy boots period are all adding up to my issue. Hopefully with the silicones and the heat shields I'll be able to go on a weekend camp trip planned early August and not lose an axle!
  13. Sb9003hd is the part number for the HD I believe, and the Amazon ad says they're 125% new like that's hardcore man. Every axle you put on makes something else new on the car too.
  14. I had the heavy duty oriell import direct ones which I'm sure are the same thing, the boot lasted about 2 or 3 times as long as the standard ones but it grenades about 2 or 3 times as violent when it ran fry
  15. Take one for the team Dave, try them out for the rest of us to know . I believe I saw thkse same ones on Amazon when I was looking.
  16. I've seen a guy put a loyale body on an explorer frame he lives up in Placerville or Roseville or somethin. I have a picture I'll post it when I find it
  17. Antelope has 4 ea82s, but of a drive for you though probably. I'm near sac, when I ej swap my wagon I won't need my ea, it has a jb welded hold in the driver side head, but you're welcome to the motor after my swap. Either swap heads or send it, it's got the fel pro gaskets kit already done a few months ago.
  18. I would but I get 2.5s for free and my wiring harness is already trimmed
  19. I'm at 2 inches lowering back down the subframe soon, I don't plan on going passed that height and only on 27s. The 04 forester sohc I believe made 160hp which is about max I'm expecting.
