  1. Yeah theres 3 good yard with in an hour of me, so depending on price I might just do replace them. Good tip.
  2. Does anyone have tips on removing window tint, besides just peeling it off with the help of a razor blade? Thanks!
  3. Im not sure in what way it died, the clerk couldn't give me any specific details when I asked.
  4. There is a service station near my house with 2 subaru's in its lot, a loyale sedan and a legacy wagon(96). The engine on the loyale is dead, the trans on the legacy is dead. Could the working motor and the working trans be mated together without a whole lot of difficulty? Thanks in advance.
  5. I purchased a 93 Legacy a few months ago and am extremely pleased with it. I'm interested in adding accessories to improve its performance/lifetime but not sure where to begin. Any suggestions?
  6. Our family goes to Delta Auto Care in chantilly VA, we know the owner and it always works well for us.
  7. I don't know what I'd do without my 91 legacy wagon with 190k on the odometer, but that was broken for about 10-15K. The MT is so much fun to drive, and I love it especially in the snow, it handles like a dream in any kind of conditions. I hope to be adding another one very soon.
  8. This usually only happens on cold mornings, but even after warming the car up for 5-10 minutes I still have a stough time shifting gears until I drive a couple miles. It's a 91 legacy MT, could it be the shifter bushings? Thanks in advance.
  9. I couldnt give a definitive answer on that considering I've only movied one at the subaru/ford dealer I work at. But if Subaru came through with this car like they did virtually every other, I would say yes, and I'd take one in a heartbeat if I had acess to the keys.
  10. get an older soob with at least 150k...if your budget was tight but it doesnt look like it is.
  11. take out the cup holder and ash tray by squeezing a little lever on the top of each. Next undo all the screws, 6 visible, 4 non. There are 2 screws recessed into the workings of the radio, use a magnetic screwdriver so you dont lose the screws, the other 2 hidden ones are where the ash tray came from, you'll need a stubby phillips head for that. don't get discouraged
  12. my legacy has also just started idling at around 500 rpm's. so deatiles on how to reset the ECU would be appreciated.
  13. I think the dealer pays for the tool set and has them delivered and all, but they're still extremely protective of their equipment.
  14. Welcome, how do you like your new Baja? The parts manager of the dealership I work at has one, and he raves about it.
  15. I'm a porter at a local subaru/ford dealer and I've looked into this problem and never quite gotten an answer. Two things that I have found though: they charge a ridiculous amount for "shop supplies" and "waste disposal." The disposal is sually nothing more than throwing away the latex gloves they wore, and the shop supplies is to pay for their hugely expensive tool sets. I've been cursed at before for nothing more than looking for a screwdriver. Those techs are real anal about theire pricey tools. Hope this helps.
  16. Well I really have no time or money to fix it, so do you recommend passing on this Gl and waiting for a better one?
  17. I work at a car dealership and my neighbor is a blacksmith, so between those two I think I could patch it.
  18. I'm going to look at this car tomorrow with a fellow board member, but I want to get as many opinoins on it as I can. Ant and all thoughts are appreciated. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4530005563&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT#mainImage
  19. In my 91 legacy I needed to pop off the speaker cover right behind the rear seat, the speaker was directly under that.
  20. good to see some older soob recognition, and the movie sucked
  21. does anyone out there have a link to the thread that mentioned a subaru (legacy maybe?) for sale in DC, i think it was for around 3500.
  22. my 91 legacy has 190k and has only had the clutch adjusted once or twice that i can remember. 1300 seems good, id pay that for another one.
